I'm guessing that one nasty tweet sent by a 19 year old means that everything that person says for the rest of their lives must be thrown into doubt.

Some people here aren't even trying to hide their delight at this development.
Some of the excuses here could have been used at Nuremberg for SS prison guards who were only following orders
Aye,the biter bit,Mozz. He is only apologetic now because he has been found out.Serves him right.

I can't stand hypocrites.

If he weren't an hypocrite and a racist hypocrite at that, he couldn't have been found out.

But he was so I'm delighted!
He was only hoping for a big payout from the ECB,Roy.If he recieves anything he should donate it to the Holocaust Remembrance Fund. You couldnt burnish his brass neck with a welders torch.
I don't recall seeing any posts on here about the racism he experienced but now that a comment he made several years ago has surfaced it gets posted.

I'm sure I've seen posts about others who said offensive and ras ist things in the past but excused saying that it was again, in the past.
Funny hpw, when the England player Ollie Robinson was suspended for similarly nasty but hostoric tweets (I don't remember the target of those tweets), also when he was in his late teens, everyone here, myself included, thought it was ridiculous. Not much difference to those which Rafiq did.
Stickybottle, Just because he said one thing* doesn't mean the other things didn't happen.
*Can you decipher what it is he is actually saying in his conversation on twitter.

As I said a few months ago...not many on AB care about Jews being on the end of racism.

'That's not true' whinge the ABers.
A fair amount on AB don't care about anybody being on the end of racism Roy.

I don't excuse his historic tweets, but using that to discredit his claims of racist behaviour helps nobody.
Question Author
No idea who he is but was the Ollie Robinson story on every news outlet in the universe 24/7?

Let me type this big and bold.

HE IS A BIG RACIST HYPOCRITE.

You may not like it and you may bring up a bit of whataboutery but you can't change facts.

Nobody needs to do that. He has discredited himself.

Bang goes his role as a race relations ambassador.
oh dear the spotlight illuminates the whole room!
Ken
He is totally and utterly discredited
No counsel on earth would put him in the witness stand of any libel or defamation lawsuit
His whole character and demeanour and motives are now put into question
A half decent barrister would assassinate his character in minutes

Seems that only white people can be racist and or anti Semitic

When making such claims you yourself have to make certain that you have never been involved in any similar impropriety in the past
He has been caught out
Stumped even !

Stickybottle,
*Can you decipher what it is he is actually saying in his conversation on twitter.

Not really but can you imagine him squirming whilst trying to do so in a courtroom as a barrister quizzed him about it ?
I am certain the barrister would make many inferences that would be damaging to his present claims
He is utterly discredited
As i said previously a new parliamentary inquiry is needed, this time into anti-semitism within the UK cricketing community.First witness-Azeem Rafiq.
ynnafymmi at 5,22pm.

"Racism versus anti-semitism?..is there a difference?"

Of course there is - surely you should know by now that anti-Jew is acceptable.

(I refuse to use anti-Semite as there's usually a nasally whine from somebody piping up that Semites are not just Jews).

What this chap endured was terrible, but no matter how the spin gets spun, and no doubt by some on here it will be spun, this is a massive massive own goal.

We've had day to day, wall to wall coverage of the racism Azeem Rafiq says he faced.

Tonight's news had 11 or so seconds coverage of his admitted racism.

Not seen today's 6:00 tv news, but it's top story on Radio 5 at the moment.

Might be more prominent on the evening news when they've had time for interviews and the like.
The usual suspects will be bending over backwards to excuse him or will try to explain how its not as bad.
