Having spent 2.5 hours on the mobile for four calls into the DWP to find out where my state pension is - not having received a penny since it became due, I was promised that it's urgent action and I should have two transfers for the latest payment and the arrears within the week. Fingers crossed and the steam/kettle pressure abated.

Now as long as they do what they promised. Most of the time was on hold waiting for a human at their end to come on.

Anything more exciting on your front?

Nowt and after a hectic weekend darn sarf, it was heaven
Working from home today and now I'm making a soup.

OH just got home and promptly popped out again to Aldi. He'll fetch the Tiny one from Nursery on his way back.

Next week it'll be 6 years together so we're going out for dinner in Birmingham and maybe a cocktail pre-dinner. Im really looking forward to that.
food shop, watched TV, posted this.
Nothing yet...3 more minutes until it's afternoon:)
Had my great physio come and work her magic on my back. Mixed the horse food so it's ready for them tonight. Fed the dogs. Chatted to granddauhter(13) who is up in Porto training for her first 1m and 1.10 metre jumping competition. She needed some help with her homework (on line official home schooling). Cleaned out the wood burner and now a cup of tea with marmite and jam sarnie
Watched a couple of episodes of UFO, come to youngest daughter's for birthday Chinese.
oh heck - about the pension - Mr Alba hits 65 tomorrow - guess he'll need to apply?

Other than arguing with some knitting this afternoon, I've been watching Jack Irish (good aussie series with Guy Pearce) Mr Alba's been for his booster shot.
Shouldnt need to apply alba but theres a backlog so some are waiting a month or two, it comes eventually but its hard for those with no other income. Theres no excuse in my book.
Thanks Bob (or bobbinwales - nice name :-D) for the info.
Apologies DTC for diversion xx
Spent a pleasant afternoon downloading travel apps and writing up a new address book. So many people have moved over the last few years that my old one was full of crossings-out.
Went for my flu jag then into town to get tickets for a charity event. Unfortunately the tickets were sold out!!
Rheumatology appointment at the hospital at 3pm but they were running behind schedule so it was dark and rush hour traffic when I got out.
Don't enjoy driving when it's dark and it took me ages to get home, so not a very happy bunny.

Hi Albs, good to see you on here, and congrats to your OH for making it - the application can be done by the phone - the grief can come later as I have discovered.

Congrats to LCG as well - surely not, 6 years....Jeez, how time passes.

Bad luck maggie on the tickets but the jab makes sense! and also to calmck - but if they straighten you out! I got a message that my booster for covid is on the 20th.

SJ, I'm probably exposed and as quilty, mine being on the pc and over 850 names and addresses in there, some serious culling needed - also including a few ex-ABers (:-(

a glass of something nice, perhaps, Barsel to restore your 'spirits'?
Should have had U3A committee meeting but it was cancelled as the pub is closed due to owners having Covid. I was just putting my coat on to go when I was phoned with the news.
So I did some filing, very boring!
From the government's own website; You are advised to apply for your state pension at least 3 months before you turn 66.
