Wildly intemperate words that as they are, it’s jump to associate what she said with murder.

Whatever you may feel about a group you despise (Millennials, Karens, Liberals, snowflakes, boomers) there’s a huge leap between hating them and being happy at their death.

If she’s said, “All Tory scum should be killed” that’d be one thing, but she didn’t.

Well of course she didn't. But it's fair to say that she created an atmosphere in which someone who was a bit deranged might feel further empowered. And others recognised that at the time, but she apparently didn't, despite being a female Labour MP like Jo Cox.

Five years, but no matter - Rayner's scum comments were only a couple of weeks ago.

The reason I brought Jo Cox's murder into it were:

- She was the last MP to be murdered
- Like Rayner, she was a female Labour MP
- All MPs only had good things to say about Jo Cox after she was murdered


Following Jo Cox's death, for one MP to describe others as scum is a missed opportunity to raise their game.

Now, Rayner seems seriously full of poop when, only a couple of weeks ago, she was describing the likes of Amess as scum and today she leaps onto Twitter to post her trite sympathy.

From watching the news David Amess didn't sound like scum to me.

There’s no political capital anneasquith, the simple fact of the matter is that Rayner thinks all Tories are scum. It is utterly undeniable that she thinks that because she said it. It can’t be spun any other way. By inference therefore, she thinks that the majority of people who voted in the last GE are scum.

This is utterly undeniable.

She should have kept her disgusting trap shut rather than her trite post.
