Ex-military chief to oversee biggest shake-up of NHS leadership for 40 years.

Some of those empire building NHS 'managers' are not going to know what hit them. Go get them Sir Gordon and save our NHS.

worffa try

the last time we had tesco managers
we had - children are only little so their care costs must be little - as in "must" - as in pas de moolah. I admit that 'kids are so small you can do two in a bed' I made up.

but we DID have: that doctor is doing nothing why cant he take out the appendix in that terribly ill child?
" because he is a psychiatrist "

so it is worth a try
wow that is good news.
Good. Not before time!
Hallelujah!
Just looked on his wiki page and it doesn’t look like he knows anything about health.
If the idea is to run the NHS like we run the military, then I hope we are not looking at an Afghanistan scenario in 10 years - loads of money spent and nothing to show for it.
Question Author
He doesnt need to know anything about health. Very few CEO's are experts in their companies products.

In fact its better that he doesnt - wont have clouded views.

I'm not surprised you dont like it though.
He's not a soldier, he's a Royal Marine, they can organise anything!
Overdue and much needed.
About time, out with the managers back in with the matrons
Not a matron, just a different type of manager ...
Question Author
Quite Vulcan.

No, I dont think we need a return to matron. Just need to have a lot less than 48% of the staff in Admin.

I hope the reorganisation stamps out stuff like this…

// MATT Hancock's old pub landlord landed a £30million deal to supply the NHS with tens of millions of Covid test tubes after WhatsApping him.

Alex Bourne, 36, had no previous experience in making medical supplies, but got to know Mr Hancock while running the Cock Inn in Thurlow, Suffolk. //
Vulcan 13.05.... In the land of ice and snow
Where a soldier dare not go
Where a Sailors never been
Lies the Brains of a Royal Marine.
// He doesnt need to know anything about health. Very few CEO's are experts in their companies products.//

very ENA ! ecole nationale d'administration - France trains all its civil servants ( hauts functionnaires ) at ENA. One hopeful said of his appointment as head of the Banque de somewhere, it is an advantage that I have not previously worked in the banking centre

same for Christine Lagarde:

[Minister of Trade of France: 1999-2005
Global Chairman of international law firm Baker McKenzie, Chicago, United States. 1995-1999. Member of the Global Executive Committee and Managing Partner, Baker McKenzie Paris office]
Good training for Chmn of European Central Bank huh?

and look what a good job they are all doing !

[like Boris just trying to level up the standard of the conversation boys and girls]
// About time, out with the managers back in with the matrons//

there arent any - - matrons that is !

or as Naomi might say (bless) no no there ARE matrons, no shortage they are just all in Tajikistan for some reason
There are matrons here. It's still a job!

I shall await with hopeful anticipation.
gromit: "Just looked on his wiki page and it doesn’t look like he knows anything about health." - that's good, it means he'll thin out all the Lefty BS and get it back to it's primary function.
