Whilst I applaud sensible and investigative journalism I am perplexed as to why a supposedly intelligent man would subject himself to this when there are crash test dummies designed specifically for such a purpose ?
Were the BBC liable or culpable ?

Unless the BBC are insured, us licence payers will be forking out for both the compensation and the costs of the legal action, which the BBC defended with all their legal might.
was he saying that the BBC forced him to do it? Or that they should have stopped him?

Anyway, it seems to say the BBC will just pay half as the responsibility was shared.
No... presuming he is a legally sane adult, who understood the risks. His choice.
I find this decision hard to understand, unless as said above the BBC 'forced' him to do it.

Very odd. Still I wont have to pay a penny towards it.
