Ah thank you Davy :0)

I don't know what the problem is. Corbyn said Labour had the best policies at the last election and were unlucky to lose. With a charismatic new leader, they will storm the next election. Or maybe the infighting and petulance will continue for another decade or more.
drmorgans: "I don't know what the problem is. Corbyn said Labour had the best policies at the last election and were unlucky to lose. " - well if they did the electorate didn't agree, the Tories won by a landslide
"With a charismatic new leader, they will storm the next election. Or maybe the infighting and petulance will continue for another decade or more. " - no, real labour cannot ever win again, as St Tony ably demonstrated to win they must become Tories. Labour have been in existence for 120+ years, in all that time they have been on power for 30, 10 of those as Tory lite. Even in the depths of crises Boris is polled ahead and EC have him winning a clear majority if a GE were held tomorrow. Nope Labour in its current form will never touch the leavers of power again. The question is do they realise it?

Filling up is being discouraged at the mo Tora. :))
I expect Keith Starmer will be waving a flag come the end of the 2021 Conference.

A white one.
He’s a decent man Andy McDonald but to be honest although much will be made of this it’ll be forgotten in due course.
These are tough times for Labour and the shock waves from such a bad election defeat are not going to settle quickly.

How honestly difficult is it for people to get the leader’s name right btw? It’s only 4 little letters :-)
The last Corbynite leaves the shadow cabinet.
It’s really good news for sensible folk.

TTT, and I thought it was only the Yanks who didn't get irony.
Never heard of him.
Starmer is pretty hopeless and Labour won’t win anything with him in charge.
You can call Starmer hopeless if you like but slowly but surely he and his team are winning this struggle to oust the far left from policy making
//surely he and his team are winning this struggle to oust the far left from policy making //

The only one he's likely to oust is himself.
Blair Toryfied the Labour Party. I doubt voters like Naomi and R1Geezer will fall for that one again.
Blair won power but did very little with it to affect the less well off. He cosied up to the bankers, and look o that finished up in 2009.
Your own quote from Starmer’s essay shows he understands very well that the Tories shape shift to suit the times. And do it very well. Only Blair in living memory has understood Labour needs to do the same.
Starmer may not win an election but he’s winning, like I say, the battle to purge the policy makers who want to take the party back to oblivion. In a few months it’s likely no one will remember these futile wrecking ball incidents by the Left.
Changing the leadership nomination rules to keep the loonies from taking over again. Also a good move.
