The airline clearly explained why Kahn and his mate were booted off the the plane. The rules may be silly, illogical, senseless etc but they are the rules and no one is better at applying senseless pointless rules than our American friends. Amir me old china just bear it so you can travel.

SP, //American Airlines has said Khan and his colleague were “deplaned” because they repeatedly refused to comply with crew member requests to stow luggage, place phones in airplane mode and adhere to face mask requirements.// I don't call 'repeatedly' refusing to comply with the crew's requests a 'minor infraction'. It might be convenient to claim that...

People think what they're going to think I guess. It looks like minds have been made up here already.
It's just disappointing, that otherwise apparently intelligent adults are reduced to buzzwords that were rejected by 12 year olds...
When someone ‘ is booted off ‘ an aeroplane, how many subsequently get their pictures taken with the police officers . ? Was obvious who would post on this thread re ( using the race card) .
Nicely put Mozz71 / Pixie374!!

:-)
^^ Yep never misses the opportunity
There is no reason not to believe the airlines version of the event. Other passengers would have heard the conversation and witness what happened. Disobeying aircraft safety rules is extremely serious and I'm sure the cabin crew were much more concerned with that than the colour of the mans skin.

sorry pixie, to what are you referring? "Playing The race Card" can be traced back to Abraham Lincoln. I suggest you get some education love.
//Authorof course it's the race card but that's what they do//. End of.
We've learnt nothing since, ttt? Hardly an impressive boast. Even if he was on the Internet...

From naomi24’s link:

//Khan said the officers who removed him from the flight later recognised him and requested photos with the former world champion boxer.//

Reading that do you think he actually had photos taken?

Or do you think he was simply asked for a photo?

Have any other passengers come forward backing up the airline’s version of events?
How many wooden spoons do you get through in the average year ttt
TTT

Who is the ‘they’ you refer to?
sp1814, In answer to your question, not that I'm aware of but has anybody come forward to back up his version? Perhaps he thought the rules were trivial but if they're the safety rules you abide by them, would you want to fly with somebody who doesn't accept safety rules? It's a bit late if the person continues to disregard the rules when airborne and as we were told in the RAF, there are no laybys at 40,000 feet.

It’s perfectly possible that the American Airlines staff acted unprofessionally (remember the United Airlines deplaning a couple of years back)?

Not saying either side is right or wrong, I’m just curious as to why some have taken the words of the airline to be 100% true.
Has anyone come forward to back up the aircraft staffs version ?

sp: "Who is the ‘they’ you refer to?" - well those that have a race card to play of course!
TTT

To expand...are you saying that 'they' are all non-white people?

It sounds like (and correct me if I'm wrong) you're saying that people of colour routinely play the race card.

Or do you mean something else?

//of course it's the race card but that's what they do.//
TTT

Could you give us some examples?
He can always find examples... but not quite the same as "routinely".
