As more people get vaccinated it's becoming unfit for purpose. I have been double vaccinated so I have deleted from my phone. Yes I know there is a very small risk I could pass it on but that's what it is, very small, not worth ending up with millions of people laid off from work for 10 days, "just in case" plus those who use it as an excuse to put their feet up at home because they have been pinged. It will end up doing more damage to the economy than the virus itself. Time for us all to get rid of it now.

Well it's estimated that by the end of July there could be around 3m people self-isolating. This is absolutely ludicrous. The idea of the vaccination programme was to enable the country to return to some semblance of normality. But at every turn the government seems intent on scotching that idea. The notion that we should have 3m - people - the vast majority of...

There’s talk of it being made less sensitive.

I’ve never used as I was never in contact with anyone for long enough and I didn’t want to risk an almost certainly erroneous “ping”.
And I wouldn’t use it now I’m afraid either.
These things help a bit but they were never the be all and end all they were hyped up to be and you didn’t have to be a genius to see why not
My smart phone does not support the app, so no.
I agree and have already posted about the number of my work colleagues having lots of paid time off doing nothing because they were pinged. I feel that might be the minority view on AB though where dropping it was called ignorant and selfish by at least one poster.
I don't have a modern enough phone, but don't do apps anyway. It should be moderated as it's causing too many problems. Agree with Prudie.
No. Had to give details at end of May when went out with my son and grandchildren for the first time in nearly a year as they live 200 miles away. Heard nothing.
Normally I don’t go out apart from shopping (with a mask), I’m double jabbed too.
I don’t want to be getting food from M & S when someone else in Home Section a floor up is a symptomatic and. Get pinged, even though we were nowhere near each other!
I have taken the app off, as I have read it is not fit for purpose now. I will sign into cafes (which are the only places I go that require it) by hand now.
I have it to shut the jobsworths up on entry to places but I ignore it other than that.
I just tell people the truth: that I don’t have it. And give them my details, which I’m happy to do.
Mind you I’m in a cafe now and no one has asked me to check in or taken my details
yes I do
in the secure knowlege that it doesnt work as it should
Nope, there is no way I would load a spyware app like that without seeing the source code.

Yes another miserable failure from Dido Harding. Thank God Sajid has told her where to go with regard to running the NHS. The woman is totally delusional.
It’s like Big Brother. I have deleted it.
Yes.
We always have our phones with us but I guess because we’re ultra careful we’ve never been pinged.
We have no intention of getting rid of the app.
has she, ymb? That's good news.
wouldn't touch it with a bargepole!
Well it's estimated that by the end of July there could be around 3m people self-isolating. This is absolutely ludicrous. The idea of the vaccination programme was to enable the country to return to some semblance of normality. But at every turn the government seems intent on scotching that idea. The notion that we should have 3m - people - the vast majority of whom will be uninfected and the few that are will suffer no serious symptoms - sitting at home is simply gobsmacking. As I said a year ago last March, this virus will spread. It's what all viruses do. The majority of the population are now protected from its worst effects. I was among those who were branded "ignorant and selfish" when a similar thread was raised a few days ago. I disagree. The selfish people are those who expect the country to continue in this ridiculous "just in case" mode and it needs to stop.
I've got the App but don't have it switched on most of the time
depressing thread , things work better when we all pull together for the common good, but clearly most no longer think like that. Its no surprise the virus keeps spreading and causing so much. Some countries like the far east cooperate and it works and nips things in the bud. Short term pain for long term gain. Here shortnightnedness and selfishness will mean we'er all losers in the long run as the problems will drag on. But if thats what people want so be it
Hmm sadly that’s unrealistic

The test and trace all was never going to work. Even if everyone had done as told.
Because by the time it came I go operation the virus was beyond controlling that way.
Other countries may have done better because they had proper tracking - which would I think be unacceptable here.
And China had two huge advantages: a repressive government and the fact the thing started there, which was always going to make it easier for them to control
In answer to the OP, I've never had it. Anyway, State Control will return in September, when you've all had a holiday.
