So 8% of the UK should be able to veto the rest should it? Essentially the SNP would have control over the UK in times of national crises? Right oh! MAABOF!

Is it time they stopped watching Braveheart on a loop up there?

Heaven forbid! The sooner they get their second referendum and either depart this hallowed land or get kicked firmly into touch, the better.
I'm not sure, but I think it's veto would be for Scotland's inclusion in any such shenanigans rather than the entire UK. Besides, I fought the loved a spot of fisticuffs up there, thought they'd be chomping at the bit for some war games.

Mozz the first sentence says: "A Scottish Labour MSP has called for Holyrood to be given a veto over UK government policies " - that's pretty clear to me.
Scotland voted 59 MPs to Westminster.
53 of them were not Conservatives, yet they find themselves being governed by a Tory Government.

They probably wouldn’t be too bothered if the Government were doing a good job, but they are a shambles.
Well, if that is the case, then she's deluded.
Question Author
what's your point sunk? The UK is governed as an entity not as local areas cherry picked to show anomalies. Do you think the SNP should be able to veto the UK government in times of Crisis? That's what this Labour MSP thinks.
TTT
My assumption would be a veto over the Westminster policies being applied in Scotland.
// she's deluded.//

Nothing new there then.
Question Author
12:04, It doesn't say that. TBF though even if it did that's not practical.
"Scottish Labour said it did not support Ms Clark's call for a Holyrood veto." So a voice in the wilderness then? Why are you bringing the SNP into this TTT - sh** stirring again?
Question Author
maggie, I brought the SNP into this because they are the Government in Scotland and as such it would effectively be them exercising the proposed veto. Nicola S would have control over the entire UK in times of crisis. If that does not frighten the bejesus out of anyone then I don't know what would.
But they haven't said they support the proposed veto TTT. Mountain/molehill springs to mind.
Question Author
of course not maggie and they won't. This post simply highlights the sort of air head that gets elected as MP/MSP.
"of course not maggie and they won't" why bring the SNP into the argument then?
//...those were decisions that affected Scotland, and in my opinion Scotland should have had a say.//

They do have a say. They have 59 MPs at the Westminster Parliament. This is 9.07% of the seats. Scotland has 5.46m of the 66.8m UK population. This is 8.17% so they are over represented.

No Andy, might be a good idea if the anti Scottish contingency on AB concentrated on their own country rather than one lone msp.
Perhaps there's a bit of folding left over from the building of Trump's wall , that could be used to reinstate Hadrians Wall
I don't think the good folk of Northumberland would appreciate that, most would end up on the wrong side of the Wall.
They dont help themselves do they. All this does is stoke hatred of the Scottish, such a terrible shame. But then the Scotts voted them in.

Time for independance.
