Actually, if you listen to his Andre Neil interview on GBNews , he very clearly states it will depend on the review panel later in the year. Neil pushed him quite a few times on this topic.

Personally I think he should scrap it. Also I think anything in a manifesto that was written before a major incident such as we have just had should also be scrapped/rewritten.
SharonA do you think you paid equivalent in that you are getting out or more?
If others are not getting pay rises to save the economy is it not fair that pensioners do not get an increase?
It doesnt work on what you paid in though. At one point I was earning in excess of 150K pa, I will get the same as someone on the rock and roll all their life.

Plus I will not get mine at 65 like many on her undoubtedly do (judging by the ages declared).
I know that I was replying to Sharon who stated it was her money and Boris had no right
Something will have to pay for the Covid expenditure, and the money is in pensions and property. If you have either of those, expect them to be raided.
Not even the communist Alister Darling actioned such a cynical attack on the most vulnerable. Guess the Tories have given up on the grey vote.
With a 79 seat majority, Johnson can afford to ignore the grey vote.
Young people have given up much, in freedoms, education and in hard cash, to protect the elderly(they are the ones at greatest risk young people are barely at any risk.

So why shouldn't the pensioners muck in too? No one is saying they wont get a rise just not the potential 8% that the ridiculous triple lock would give.
What I don't understand is why the basic pension is substantially more (about £20 pw) for "new" pensioners than it is for those who've been retired for a while. Does it cost them more to live?
//Not even the communist Alister Darling//

I don't think John McDonnell would have called him a communist!

Rishi Sunac is preparing for his autumn Budget.
Saying he can not increase income tax.
he can not increase NIC
he can not increase CGT. But pension tax reform will work because it will only have a short term impact on a yearly basis and would be virtually Imperceptible to most people.... Oh yes!
