yeah I am in the bercow's not a berk sect
he was the first Speaker, as I recall, to encourage debate about leaving the EU, so perhaps people owe him more than they know.
As Michael Heseltine famously said in 1977 at the time of the Lib-Lab pact:

"I've often heard of rats deserting a sinking ship but I've never heard of mice joining one"

who did he steal that from, Churchill?
A pompous, self-serving, self-righteous dwarf with a giant ego; exactly what Labour deserve. Good riddance.
yes it is good riddance.
He's always favoured Labour. The most biased Speaker in history. His wife has been a Labour councillor for years and he has been Labour in all but name. Not the working class Labour, mind you, the metropolitan, condescening, woke, elitist, self-serving Labour. He'll fit right in.
Haha this is priceless. Just when you think things couldnt get any worse for Sir Starmer, he's now got the pompous poisoned dwarf in his lughole. When elitist Remoaners like Sir Keir and John Bercow are at the helm, it shows how far Labour have got from their working class roots. This will do nowt to boost Labour's chances in the north.
Who remembers Andrea Leadsom's barbed comment the implied 'F Off' to him in The House - brilliantly put.

''Now this time coincided with my first-ever rebellion against a three-line whip as one of 81 Conservatives to vote for a referendum on EU membership, leading to media speculation that I had told the (then) Chancellor George Osborne, if you'll forgive me Mr Speaker, to ''F off,''' she told the Commons.

'Well, I can assure you that there's only one person to whom I might be tempted to provide such frank advice, and that wouldn't include any former or current chancellor and certainly not any current Speaker.'

In my view, it's a good thing that he's efffed offed - I bet if he was MP for Buckingham still, he wouldn't have the decency to put his seat up for a by-election.
Good riddance.
His criticism of his former party is spot on I’m afraid and he’s hardly the only defection in recent times
Hurrah! Great news!!
Ed Davey thanking his lucky stars this morning ...
Odious creep of a man, he is 100% affected by 'short man syndrome'!
I thought he already had.
It goes to show that Labour is still, despite Sir Keir's denials, in favour of the EU and would try to drag us back in. No real surprise.
"Boris has only a Nodding Acquaintance with the Truth
Says Bercow . You have got to applaude Bercow for that one, PMSL.
The Labour party is very welcome to that odious littlle man.
I bet Starmer is thinking, "Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse..."
Why does it matter? He is not the Speaker anymore
