Who knows whether or not the donor is homosexual ? how does this issue arise ? heterosexuals can have HIV too, all blood is tested anyway, so why are this pair of homosexuals in the newspaper ? It seems like fake news to me.

I got thrown off the Blood Donor list years ago and I haven't kept up with the rules and regulations.

My boss told me about the blanket ban on gays a couple of weeks ago and I thought that he was joking.

I never queried where the blood came from when I needed a transfusion, wasn't fussed about the grammar either.
I cant understand why some are slating an ABer for raising a perfectly good question that does need debating.

My view is that things have moved on and the risk of not accepting the blood outweighs the minimal risk of some contaminated blood not being detected.

So yes, a good thing. But should be monitored - as I am sure it will be.
This is a sign of medical progress and a good thing.
