Bullied by the TROB hordes, of course but 100% correct from the start. It seems though that these days that's not enough.

Question Author
//She claimed she was discriminated against because of her beliefs, which include "that sex is immutable and not to be conflated with gender identity// - bang on so why is that grounds for persecution?
Just to warn you- the last thread like this was removed. Maybe it should be in Science?
Question Author
it's in news because it's in the news.
Tora, the decision was based on her 'beliefs'. It's not quite the watershed moment I think you think it is.
// The matter will now be remitted to a freshly constituted Tribunal to determine whether the treatment about which the Claimant complains was because of or related to that belief. //

the new tribunal will almost certainly overturn this.
Question Author
yes that's her belief but that is also biologically accurate. 2+2=4, that's my belief and it also happens to be accurate. Where are you going with this Zacs?
I know, ttt. But it didn't help last time. Zacs, it's nothing to do with beliefs- it's just truth. That has no care about feelings, it just is. It's a don't shoot the messenger thing.
Question Author
even the TG plonkers agree that sex is immutable and gender is not necessarily aligned, isn't that what she said?
I just don't want you getting all excited that there's been some sort of decision that Gender is immutable, per se. The ruling is that she was not wrong to express her belief that gender is immutable.
'it's nothing to do with beliefs- it's just truth'

I'm afraid you seem to have gotten hold of the same end of the stick as Tora, Pix.
Please explain?
Gender is always mutable, for everybody.
Zacs- //I'm afraid you seem to have gotten hold of the same end of the stick as Tora, Pix.//

But as Tora will tell you, it's a male stick, because females don't have sticks.
Question Author
pixie, she said what is the TROB approved view that //Sex is immutable and not to be conflated with gender identity// - and was still persecuted, bit of an own goal if you ask me.
Let's see, mozz... not sure whether zacs is referring to gender or sex yet. But proud that ttt now sees the difference.
Yes. She is literally correct.
She may be correct but that's not what the decision (or the BBC article)is based on. It's based on her expressing a 'belief' and the decision is that she wasn't wrong to express it.

Do you see the subtle difference?
Question Author
pixie, yes, she has the approved view and yet was till fired from her job, why do you think that was?
No. She was expressing a fact. So far- it is not illegal to do that, anywhere. It isn't "watershed" no. It's what we would expect.
Because that isn't allowed here, ttt, on this subject. Thankfully, it wasn't upheld.
