I'm a Potter first. The rest is just baggage.
Haven't read the rest - but I feel more Yorkshire than British, but then more British than English.
Gordon Brown has made some spectacular errors of judgement but everybody makes sense sometimes and here he actually does, although for his grave errors he does not rate above the bottom in my book.
I typed out a whole screed of stuff then realised it's not worth the hassle.

Main point though, we're not 'our Scots' to be wheeled out for the entertainment of superior beings.

Some thinly disguised nastiness lurking just beneath the surface of this happy band.

i don't see that Douglas, strange that you would think that. No one as far as i can tell has been nasty, not to the point where i would perhaps take them to task.
I don't know where you detected that, Douglas, I actually thought the Scots were on their best behaviour :-)

I am English first, British second. I can understand any Englishman, Scotsman or Welshman feeling that way.

What I can't stomach is the anti-English sentiment.

i know what you mean Lcg. But at least we kept it more or less on track.
I feel a lot more British than I do anything else although I am English...
