i hope that you have got your polling cards at the ready, unless like me you voted by
post. Big day for all concerned especially up in Hartlepool, where the seat is up for grabs.

i would love to see Shaun Bailey pull off a coup with winning the Mayoralty in London, but sadly London is not particularly Tory friendly, so expect Sadiq Khan to gain a second term.
I have seen absolutely nothing from any of my local candidates...not one piece of paper through my letter box and obviously no door knockers...although keeping a distance is possible on the doorstep. Having trawled through the council web site I can find no hint of what the candidates are standing for.....and some without even a picture..... I may just spoil my paper in protest.....
According to our local news last night , it looks like it’ll go to the Tories
There’s a very large Asian community in London that’ll see Khan back in again for another term, regardless of his policies
Question Author
i know Bobbi, shame as think Shaun has come up with some good plans, but expect to see Khan be re elected
Question Author
Mally, you have to go with your conscience, i wouldn't spoil the vote, perhaps have a look on line to see if you are represented, so to speak to see what the candidates have to say.
Question Author
i haven't had any leaflets from anyone either, so no idea what the candidates are standing for, except for Shaun Bailey who is the Tory candidate for Mayor and Sadiq Khan for Labour. they have had plenty of air time to get their message across on tv.
Wasn't there a large Asian community living in London when Boris won his two terms? According to the polls, it's a shoe-in for Khan.
Question Author
yes, but confess that i was surprised when he became Mayor. London is very pro Labour.
What’s a ‘shoe in’?
Question Author
Ken Livingstone Labour, now Sadiq Khan, i guess that could be a shoe in as you say
Question Author
a person or thing that is certain to succeed, especially someone who is certain to win a competition.
"he was a shoo-in for re-election"
Well I neverrrr :0)
Question Author
you learn something new every day Bobbi....
A 'shoe-in' is a dead cert, Bobbi. According to the latest polls, on first preferences, Khan can expect 41% of the votes with Bailey on 28%. Isn't there also a very large Black Afro/Caribbean community living in the Capital. Surely they'd be supporting their man?
Oops, i spelt it wrong, 'shoo-in' :-((
Thanks for the heads up
Question Author
if you can get them to vote Ken, i would think so.
I quite like Sadiq Khan though the mayor of london is little more than a figurehead. I will be quite happy to see him re-elected.
