\\The police have issued a statement saying they will work to 'facilitate the protest', and First Bus has announced that bus services will be diverted away from the city centre, Park Street and Broadmead from 6pm for the rest of the night.//

Basically anyone working in centre of Bristol, lots of NHS employees trying to get home from the 6 or 7 hospitals in the centre are stuffed.

this is why the bill needs to go thru.

Another protest is planned for saturday, if you notice most of them are students.

Bristol, twinned with Belfast. Plod, now emasculated, struggles to choose which demography to identify with now that they have no identity of their own.
Cant the universities remove them from their courses.send them home.
// Cant the universities remove them from their courses.send them home.//
they are mainly AT home arent they? Lockdown and alll that
Lectures one day a week if you are lucky
//this is why the bill needs to go thru.//

No, this is why A bill needs to go through. For me the current one allows plod to stop a protest on a whim, or if they so wish effectively political reasons. Plod should not have such power as they will abuse it, people always abuse power given.
Water cannons will help the police disburse these anarchists.

Just like the protesters abusing the democracy they have been given which they feel gives them carte blanche to attack the police so I guess it goes both ways.
The local nhs staff must be spitting with rage about the massive covid breaches that are continuing though in the name of freedom
PP - they are not mainly at home. The universities are still open, just not to lessons. My son goes to the Uni library everyday.
//The local nhs staff must be spitting with rage about the massive covid breaches that are continuing though in the name of freedom//

And how many case have there been? None I bet.

Covid is being used by the Government to remove our freedoms, I support the protests, but not any violence or criminal damage.
they need to stop pussy footing about. Get some proper batons and crack a few heads.
Water cannons are now being used in Belfast .Time to use them over here wherever the thugs abuse our police .
Protests will grow if authorities don't stop trying to control citizens, when they should be getting society back to normal as fast as reasonably possible.

\\//The local nhs staff must be spitting with rage about the massive covid breaches that are continuing though in the name of freedom//

Actually there were, having they're journeys to and especially from work interrupted after a 12 hr shift, not to mention having their cars vandalised and then there's the patients, cancer patients, missing vital appointments for treatment, getting results.

but hey, they don't matter do they.
Socialist Worker and thier idea of how to make the world a better place.
outside transmission is now seen to very low ( less that one in a thousand cases- that is take 1000 cases of covid, just one)

which I have been saying since a million people went down to Durdle Dor in bright sunlight and nothing happened July 2020

[togo was moved to ask - where durdle dor den?]

the data is out there
Let us try to be rational on AB - christ what am I saying? this comment wont last very long !
you know there isnt a chief constable?
he's gone
or will go
as Colston went into the harbour, his career went darn da tube
flushed darn the bog as it were
// outside transmission is now seen to (be) very low //

and yet those returning to the outside tables of the re-opening pubs must wear masks?

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/pubs-open-april-masks-beer-gardens-council-b928954.html
outside transmission covid low
- publican denies this, shock !

mushroom you ask a virotoblist ( what evva they are called ) and not publican or pot boy about virus transmission. Publicans you ask: is your beer dear, and things like that

I follow the covid rules ( whilst as an old Porton Downer I think god this is a load of pants) so yes I will take a soggy mask darn da pub and think ....god this is a load ....

important thing is vacca - as the figures show
and second impt thing is keep politicians out of clinical matters

me fren madge watches a lot of French day time teevee ( France 24) and Jesus some genius ( epidemiologue) was making a mess of vaccination

"first time AZers were being offered a different one for no 2 (even tho the effect was completely unknown and previously not recommended) . AZ vacca which was previous quasi ineffectual ( Macron) and not used in over 55s is now only to be used in over 55s. That was because it was women under 40 they wished to protect. AZ wasnt very good anyway because it was effective against kent variant which was common en France and not effective against the South African variant which they hadnt seen yet

and I had to go over it again - and thought christ he really did say that

oh god I thought this was a covid thread
sozza
remove
replace or delete -
even i can see that day time tee vee in France has nothing to do with Colston having his face washed - in Breetol Harbour that is !
// first time AZers were being offered a different one for no 2 (even tho the effect was completely unknown and previously not recommended) //

they're only following the guidance of Lord Tony of Blair, for he said why not mix 'n match? after all it was he that said it was OK to extend the inter-jab gap to 12 weeks, and "the science" looked and saw that it was good.
