The present Mrs Hughes telling me on an almost daily basis that I need to eat better and exercise more.

It must be dispiriting for her, and of absolutely no benefit to her personally whatsoever, it can only be grounded in her love for me, and her desire to keep me around fror as long as possible.

In mitigation, I am trying to address my dreadful health regime - i think I owe her that, since I love her at least as much in return.

When you have decided 'No more men - ever!' after escaping from an abusive relationship which had turned violent and was life-threatening --- and then discover that the nice chap you sing and chat with at choir has sneaked up on your blind side. Been together 13 years now and happily married for 8 of them.

Thank you so much Bobbi! To add to the romance - we sort of counter-eloped when he was 75 i.e. we ran away from France to UK to tell our various kids. :)

It will probably come as no surprise to many people here that my answer relates to cats ;-)

For me, love is the feeling I get (as just a few minutes ago) when I come home from a shopping trip to see my three gorgeous cats playing a crazy game of chase outside my house.

Yes. Still sane we have lots of land and they are indoor, outdoor. Mostly rescues. There have been 22 previous ones since moving here 40 years ago. Also 75 foster puppies who have all found forever homes!!

Love, for me, is watching my little dog Jill running round the park in total abandon with her eyes sparkling and a lolling tongue and me shouting 'Go Jill' as she speeds around.

I also had a 'love' moment when a very dear friend send me a lovely cake through the post for my recent birthday complete with serviettes and candles so I could share some of it with other friends (if I wanted to), I did ! I had a big smile on my face when I opened the parcel and there was my cake nestling there ...
