Strangely this is not as isolated as it may seem.
Actor Lawrence Fox appeared on "Question Time" and an audience member suggested he was guilty of racism simply on the basis that he was a white person. He remonstrated with her and said that he could not help being white, suggesting his tormentor was guilty of racism herself for simply making such an allegation.
He has subsequently been "cancelled" and his acting career has taken a decided turn for the worse, possibly permanently.
We live in very troubling times.

I think the fact that Mr Fox's phone isn't ringing as frequently is more to do with his twitter faux pas where he commented '“Just had a large group over to lunch and we hugged and ate and talked and put the world to rights,” Fox said. “It was lovely. You’ll never take that away from people.”
and then “Stay out. Protect your rights,” he added. “If the NHS can’t cope, then the NHS isn’t fit for purpose.”
he has made other, shall we say, ill judged comments too.

All of this apologising for being white, male, heterosexual, and employed are the signs that our society is breaking down.
I expect more of this, backed up by legislation to further isolate us in our own country.
We deserve the fate, for not being strong enough to stand up to our detractors. Asylum seekers for a start.
