Are you in favour??
The way I look at it, I can understand businesses & shops wanting to protect their customers, but to me the unvaccinated are taking the biggest risk.

If they do decide on a passport of some type for travel how will those living in the EU manage travel as their beloved EU are taking so long in giving them out. EU have never been known to do anything quickly.
"you'll get a QR code you can show on your phone or print at will. You won't need an actual card."

What about those without a smartphone?
Probably only make their demands on us as the 'traitors ' as they see us shedman :0)))
Just to repeat that if it’s foreign travel we’re talking about, there won’t be “vaccine passports” as the idea makes no sense.
There might be - probably will be - different arrangements between different countries for a while. For example, what use either a British “vaccine passport” be if a country didn’t recognise it? Restrictions are likely to be for people coming in, not going out (as now in fact)
danny "Crystal ball gazing again TTT." - it's obvious, that's the way we are heading. Most things will be QR codes going forward. If people want to partake in society they'll have to get the accoutrements.
"Vaccine Passports" is just a generic term for being able to prove you have been vaccinated. The actually form will be electronic, probably connected to passport records and other records via QR code that the Luddites can print out if necessary.
well TBF the bubbles are desperate to get a few quid in the bin.
A paper copy of anything is handy ...
Such as the thing they give you when you get vaccinated ...
A foresee a row of smug “Luddites” ambling past a phone user who’s forgotten his charger :-)
By the time this has been organised it’ll probably matter a lot less ...
Michael Gove is heading a review of the vaccine passport proposal. Perhaps the Ab Editor should pass on TORATORATORA's e-mail address to Mr Gove so they can save months ironing out any issues?
yeah...just say TTT says "end of" so they can all go home....oh sorry I meant of course "log off from zoom"
It will have to be an electronic record whatever it is - even I could knock up and print out those cards that show you have had the vaccine.
10.50 Don't encourage the Banker.
Why do you suppose an electronic version of anything is more reliable?
I’m all in favour of it over paper but nonetheless ...
Gulliver have you anything at all constructive to add to threads?
Because I assume it will be linked to your passport or NHS record or some other more established government data. Everything is open to fraud but none more so than a flimsy paper card with no chip or anything in it.
ich: "Why do you suppose an electronic version of anything is more reliable? " - not more reliable, more convenient, harder to fake etc.
Prudie can't be linked to NHS record that's confidential. The jab record will be in there but its not allowed for other services to access it
Certainly more convenient ...
If you carry a phone.
Back up is always useful.

As with all these things there’ll be a cost benefit analysis. As I said before it’ll become less of an issue over time and the record thus far with this virus is that these grand schemes usually come to nothing or very little.
bobbi: "Gulliver have you anything at all constructive to add to threads? " - In his 6000+ answers given on this site I defy anyone to find a single constructive syllable from gulliver.
