Probably around the 90s, maybe later, it was a US show, Black guy, either cop or PI, drives a (i think) red E-Type jag. Anyone remember it? All my searches just bring up thousands of E-Type references.

Stephen: Thanks I have been doing a lot of searches too, tough one to find. I'm sure I didn't dream it! the problem with google etc is that as soon as it sees E-Type you get a squillion entries for that!

the car movies DB would be useful if you could sort it in date order of the TV show, all the sorts seem to be for the car.
