A horrible cynical man who made a career out of nastily peddling misinformation and scapegoats. How depressing to think that someone had the potential to do something good for the world and chose not to.

A mysogynist, a racist, a covid denier, and someone who paved the way for bell ends like Alex Jones and Ann Coulter to make careers in hate. Not a nice guy.
Never heard of him.
Never heard of him either, but it doesn't look like it. Airing controversial views, is useful, as it gives people a chance to respond.
Never heard of him either,[email protected] who the hell is Alex Jones and Ann Coulter?
Never heard of him either. I suppose that, whatever his views, they need to be expressed to spark debate. It is essential to talk and try to reconcile apparently unreconcilable views through rational debate, so I don't think he was wasted - someone has to do it. Do you live in the States, Untitled?
I do wonder if people like this - Katie Hopkins is our homegrown version - create a persona that is simply provocative for the sake of it, because it generates listeners/readers/viewers.

Clearly though, Mr Limbaugh was much better at skating the line between what is and what is not acceptable in terms of expressing the views he used to create and maintain his career.
Katie Hopkins and all.I had to go onto Wikipedia to see who she was.....(seems a bit loopy). Are all these Welsh eejits as bad as the numpties we have up here in Scotland.
I don't think this thread is about Welsh people.
Jones,Hopkins.Sounds pretty Welsh to me.

I honestly believe she created a 'monster' persona to parlay a media career, but as I said, she was not clever enough to stay the right side of the lines, and her inability to operate properly in her chosen sphere has led to a seriously expensive libel loss, dismissal from all the media outlets that employed her, and lifetime ban from Twitter.
Better to watch this to see who Alex Jones is. (funny ending)

Alex Jones (not that one) is the owner of a far right site called InfoWars. Full of lovely conspiracy theories and right wing chest beating. He's a bit of a monster. Ann Coulter, as Andy mentioned her, is an American version of Katie Hopkins.
Thanks Roy. Not only is that Jones in a nutshell, it gave me a laugh.

Indeed.

Alex Jones is an idiot who honestly believes that any voice that is not his own is not worth hearing, and therefore he will talk over and then shout down anyone who is taking up air space around him.

He also believes, as does Trump and similarly minded individuals, that if you measure your audience, you gain credence directly proportional to its size.

That was, is and always will be, a giant fallacy.

The man is a buffoon, and happily, his tendency to believe that the louder and more hysterical he gets, the more his message is heard and believed, assists in showing him up for the raving loon that he actually is.
I thought all these Canucks were peace and love loving hippies.Seems i was wrong.
22:21, hilarious, I find it ironic because that septic is doing pretty much what Andrew Neal does normally when he "interviews" people!
I suppose it depends on what you consider to be "wasted".

By any objective measure a syndicated radio show of 33 years standing and reaching 27 million listeners has to be considered a success rather than a waste.

I too knew nothing about him, but having seen the BBC's hatchet job, I wouldn't be aligned to his more extreme views, but I suspect you consider his career a "waste" because you disagreed with his views. If that's the yardstick, then for me James O'Brien's career has been, and continues to be, a waste.
Never heard of this narrow-minded little man.
