I have seen comments on here from some that are angry the family went to Barbados. I can understand their point of view but would never troll the family.
Shameful, isn't it.

Keyboard idiots who probably have no backbone whatsoever.
no it doesn't beggar belief at all. There have always been, will always be, nasty minded idiots.
Well her father is no longer alive to be heartbroken. I’d advise her and her family to return to their normal life, ignore the media and negative online posts .
I'm not surprised.

Some people are shocking.
anne I think its more that the family want to contribute to trying to get trolling stopped.
There were some shocking remarks on AB when Captain Tom died, by people who should know better.

Given time and airspace to these vile trolls is counter-productive and they should be just ignored.

I think the best thing for the family to do is turn off their Social Media and try to return to some sort of normality. Captain Tom will never ever be forgotten and there is a danger of turning the whole thing into a bun fight, which is very wrong.
Why should they have to turn off social media? In the current climate it's often the only way families can talk.
ummm, they can set their Facebook to friends only. They don't need to read strangers posts
Why didn't Facebook remove the offensive posts?
But why should they have to?

I've been reading a thread on FB where my uncle is bullying my son. I'm not friends with half the people that answered. Funny thread

(Bullying is just banter....it's mainly about football)
No mention of FB in the news article but a man has been charged for his offensive post on Twitter. Maybe the posts were removed after the family saw them
FB or Twitter....splitting hairs.
Ummm, if it is your family's main way of keeping in touch why wouldn't you set the accounts to 'private'?
It began even before he died and I said on here that I hoped the abuse wouldn't escalate, people can be so wicked at times.
My account is private.

Do you actually use facebook?
can't understand these miserable people who troll others, its so pointless, what pleasure would they get out of it.
It really all boils down to one thing, and one thing only, jealousy!! they see the family as being pretty well off, many commented on the size of the house, then along came the holiday, I'm sure these angry people thought they had profited from the money raised. Jealous people can be very dangerous people. Although its a shame they should do so, it may be well advised to lay low now, away from the media and public eye. What people hadn't got the brains to see is that his family saw his holiday as ( at the time) may be his last one at 100 years old, sadly they were right.
what did the trolls say, besides the barbados trip? if anyone deserved a trip like that it was captain tom... some people who mocked him
live in the gutter of there own mess.
