Worrying that it interferes with the vaccine as is claimed
All the makings of a disaster. Very worrying methinks.
not at all surprised and of course its a variant of concern...we are making headway and mutations are expected. When the headline is "Vaccines have no effect on fast spreading new and dangerous mutation" then I will worry.
Can't help but wonder if the government has contingency plans if everything goes belly-up.
Yes, it is to reformulate the vaccine, and give everyone an annual jab.
"he stressed that the data was still "very sketchy" and at a "very early stage" - forgive me if I don't start to panic just yet.
The beeb hacks and journos dont understand it
so cant explain it to us

Any one in Manch who is worried - the area is Hulme and Moss-side and I do admit that the authorities are pooing themselves over it. The post codes are on the internet
a mutant of a variant... these things do get complex. Unfortunately they're the outcome of Covid running wild, on and off, over the last year: the more the virus spreads, the more it's likely to mutate. We'll just have to hope that if the vaccines aren't enough to deal with them at present, they can be adapted to do so.
The vaccine is still effective, it prevents hospitalisation and deaths, that's good enough, no reason to extend lock down any longer than absolutely nessasary.
Agreed dave, just need to get the majority vaccinnated first so maybe thing's can relax abit by july?
this vaccination programme is going to take us beyond july im sure.
relax is not a word i would use in this context.
The last of the 50's and up and clinically vulnerable aren't scheduled to get second injections until august according to the calculator and that is still calculating on 70ish% uptake when in fact so far its much higher. Given that the priority seems to be getting kids back in school, I don't see much relaxation happening.
