It matters who caused it. What doesn't matter is who I think caused it. But for what it's worth, as I reasoned above, I think Trump had a big hand in it, whether or not he meant to.

If you think that John Earle Sullivan, 26, was instigator-in-chief of the riots then you're deluded. He was along for the ride, as were many others.

Who the hell has said that?
Regardless he was an instigator and a participant.
He encouraged Ashli Babbitt to climb through the broken window seconds before she was shot.
There was a video on youtube earlier that had him bang-to-rights...unsurprisingly it has been removed.
John Earle Sullivan,Kamala's first pardon?
Unsurprisingly as if that was the case, it is evidence in his trial!
Roy, here is the video shot by the man himself ...

Watch the whole thing if you like, it's long. Or watch from 1:11:00 which shows the lead up to the shot, the shot itself and the aftermath - warning, you are witnessing a killing.
Oh, here's a link to YouTube ...

One final try ...

He may be a turnip but he's not the root cause...
I think he's small fry, more interested in a bit of notoriety.
I hope they catch the woman in the green shirt directing everybody as to where to go.

I've seen his videos.
The ones were he says he is merely documenting and the ones in which he says 'let's burn this *** down.

He been on BLM protests but says he is not a member but supports them (do they have membership?)

And the night after the protest (unless the photo is fake) he is pictured shooting the breeze with The Proud boys.
He's an interesting character alright.

Suggest you watch the video from about 1:11:00.

He encourages one of the officers in front of the door to move aside. He encourages the crowd to move forward, but he's not the only one. He notices the gun and shots as much. He says no more but carries on filming. The crowd continues trying to push through the door. About 15 seconds after he shouts about the gun, the shot is fired.

I think if you watch the video it would be very harsh to blame him for her death. He was there, he filmed it, he did say some words encouraging the crowd but they didn't need that and the words made no difference, and he was the only one who said anything about a gun and again the crowd took no notice.

''Do that sh it, break it''

encouraging the crowd to smash the windows in the doors.
Question Author
I suggest you watch the video again.
I've watched it. I don't disagree with anything you've written at 01:00 or 01:02. I think he is part of the riot, but only part ... not a ringleader.

It seems to me that what he said made no difference, whether that was "Smash it" ... they already were ... or "There's a gun" ... of which no notice whatsoever was taken, they carried on smashing and moving forward until one of them was shot about 15s later.

This bloke played a significant (and strange) roll in it all.

I'm surprised he hasn't been named yet.
Ellipsis//I watched the video.

It showed Trump supporters (A) calling other Trump supporters (B)"Antifa", because B were doing things that A couldn't believe a God-fearing Trump supporter would do;//

As I told you when you posted that 'you can't possibly know that'.
You should have used this thread, imo, to apologise for the mistaken assumptions you made. (and the supercilious comments that resulted from those mistakes)
Instead, you're digging a deeper hole for yourself which is making you look ridiculous.
To be fair, a lot of other ABers were spouting the same arrant nonsense as you but, as predicted, are avoiding this thread like the plague.
As I also advised you, do try to carefully script your arrant nonsense as Jim does. Imply bull-shine instead of stating it as fact and you'll avoid comebacks.
Thanks for the advice, Spicey, but I don't think I'll take it. You're quoting what I said about one video of an incident, when above we're discussing a different video of a different incident.

Thanks for the personal critique and advice, but I don't think I'll take it. If you want to turn this into an ad hominem attack thread, keep going ...

Role...role (it was late)
this is a desperate attempt to separate the events at the capitol from trump supporters when they were clearly the vast majority of people there and the people instigating it. The man in the link should without doubt be brought to justice for his participation but i don't think anyone would seriously disagree with that.
