So are over 80s going to get the second injection when originally promised, i.e. my sister’s next week? She hasn’t heard anything to the contrary. If this has been.changed to 12 weeks I thought we might have heard by now...

My Dad was due to have his second injection on Saturday 9th but it was postponed via text on Monday. My sister's friend had her second one cancelled on the day she was due to have it.
if she hears nothing then turn up....
OH had his second injection yesterday afternoon. He has contributed to medical knowledge because he developed an all-body, itchy rash after the first. There was a lot of consultation, even bringing in the pharmacist, and then they photographed bits of him before deciding to give him the 2nd one anyway. He seems fine so far and I am standing by with the hydrocortisone.

Tell your sister to ring her doctor's practice. That's what we did and we were told that he should attend.

Thanks all, fingers crossed :)
I can't find the link on the BBC website now but it was reported a few days ago that, although the Government has changed the interval between the two vaccinations from three weeks to twelve weeks, many GPs are refusing to cancel existing appointments for second jabs, citing a potential 'loss of trust' in the system if they were to do so.
My 82 yr old sister in law has her second one yesterday
83 year old friend of mine was due to have his second jab on Friday. He had a text to say it was postponed, probably until march.
I'm in my 80s and had my second jab today on the date and time given to me after Jab 1.
Peter P is correct; if you don't hear to the contrary, just turn up. I was told the I would have over 90% immunity after seven days.

Good luck..D
My 91 year old mum is in a care home with dementia and they havn't had their first vaccine yet.
My mum, 86 in a couple of weeks, hasn’t had her first.
My mumns 90, not been offered one. Although her belief is the working population should get it first since she wont go out anyway.

The whole thing is a shambles with lie after lie leaving Hancocks mouth. Its disgraceful.
But would'nt she and you feel happier about you and maybe other carers/visitors been able to visit her knowing you&they could'nt infect her unknowingly
