London & South East is going into tier 4.

Christmas can't go ahead as originally planned.

This won't affect us too much as we've no plans. What about you?

Not sure yet Tiggs, step son is in Norwich and was going to be one of the three family mix, I'm not too sure Norwich comes into Tier 4 ?
\\From midnight, a new tier four will be introduced in areas such as London, Kent, Essex and Bedfordshire.//

Not Norwich Bobbi (hope you are well)
We were having a low key one with just my brother and nephew. Nephew tested positive yesterday, though he'll be out of quarantine by Christmas Day, my brother is not taking it seriously enough, so I was going to tell them both to stay at home. Boris has done that for me.
that for some maybe many it won;t make a jot of difference. No matter the governments rulings. It will affect me not a jot. I can't go to family anyway, so being one tier on i can't see there being much of a difference.
No change for us. we remain in Tier 2 and spending on one day with family so all well for us thankfully.

(we're in Norwich Bobbi so no change to step son's plans)
I can just imagine how busy the shops are this evening in Tier 4!
It won’t affect us. My wife has a friend who is flying out to Portugal from her home in Kent tomorrow. Maybe it will affect her.
not much effect here. Sis and i are bubbled and she will be travelling to stay with me but neither of us is in a tier 4 area.
Step son works from home and sees no one other than going to the local supermarket after moving from Cambs, if he does travel to us it'll be by car not public transport , the hiccup would be the 5 day plan has now been scrapped to just Christmas Day , I doubt we will see him in that case

Yes Webbo, very well thanks, I hope you and yours are too
I'm in Bucks... does that mean we can't meet another household Christmas day. Honestly, I am struggling to keep up with it.
Thanks Maydup x
I think it's absolutely unforgivable to bring that in with less than a week to go after saying for ages whatever we won't cancel Christmas. They'll be tears shed in my family that's for sure.
We were not planning on doing anything but we now have 2 friends for Xmas day because they can’t go home
Our lockdown starts Boxing Day
I feel sorry for the small businesses that will have to close again just before Christmas. Probably too late to instigate online shopping in time for Christmas.
When this all started I said to my wife....this’ll only end in tiers.
I’ll be leaving now.....
//No change for us. we remain in Tier 2 and spending on one day with family so all well for us thankfully.//

So long as that one day is Christmas Day, maydup. The relaxations that were planned for five days are now restricted to that one. Other than that you will be under T2 rules, which restrict indoor gatherings to household or "support bubble" only.
i haven;t shed any tears so far, but i damn well feel like it, no contact with family as they are 70 miles off. I can talk to them on the phone of course, but not the same as getting to see them, who knows when that might be.
NJ, is tier 4 allowed to meet with anyone on Xmas day? Sorry for asking, I've had different messages from friends and family, but haven't seen it.
Prudie, I think they really hoped not to have to do it.
Folks this is a different ball game now.
Covid 19 is old hat.......the new "kid on the block" is the variant.
The rules have changed.
