Google applications including YouTube, Gmail and Docs suffer rare outage, with users unable to access services.

Google's infrastructure is vast and robust. My first thoughts are that it must be an epic cyber attack by a "state actor".

Sir Ian McKellen maybe, or does a knighthood not really make you a state actor?
I checked one site that records issues with sites for any news and that site was having its own server problems.
I've just sent a Gmail (or at least I think I have, and it hasn't bounced back)
Does seem to be back up now, but that's a roughly 50-minute outage.
YouTube is fine now.
There have been several Google outages this year. Nothing to suggest that they have suffered an attack, by state or individuals.

Google services are free, so you don’t have any comeback when they stop working.
"Google services are free"

Not strictly true, you can buy a workplace package.

These things happen, its not mission critical so they will get it going when they can (the free stuff). Certainly does not mean they have a big attack, they will suffer attacks all day and all night and are used to it, just like Banks and other big Corps. You would probably be surprised at how much even the Fintech Banks get hit daily.

I think it goes a bit beyond their free services, Sunk.

For example, have you noticed there are no ads on AB?
Isn't that because you must've installed an Ad Blocker Ellipsis?
Question Author
No, I don't use an ad blocker.
AB is packed with ads but several browsers now block ads by default so, unless you actively disable that feature, you won't see them displayed here.
