With all the anti-vax nonsense going round about Covid jabs does anyone else think it slightly cavalier to chuck the first and very high-profile shot into the arm of a 91 year old who lets be fair could peg out at any time for any reason?

ok thanks...
The query makes no sense whatever.
By that reasoning they’d not vaccinate anyone who needed it most!
Well, I've had the jab due because I'm involved with research into Sars-CoV-2 and I'm still here! Although I'm not of the same age as the lady, I can assure you I'm no spring chicken! All the same the point is relevant.

I’m not suggesting that she shouldn’t have had the jab today, everybody should have it and she’s a prime candidate. But maybe just put the 91 year old 2nd in line though and not the one that’s now famous for it. Her death will definitely be reported on and I just hope it’s in a long enough while that it’s not used to spread disinformation.

I want to also say I don’t mean to be flippant about someone dying soon she’s a person with a family, it’s just that she’s 10 years over the average and it’s only her age that’s relevant to my point.
Boris was filmed in a hospital today - could they not have found a vaccine for him? I know he's not in the target group, but he is the Prime Minister, and it would have been good to see him leading from the front.
yeah exactly
exactement as I have been watching PSG slink off in a huff
if I had been there

I wd have marched on and shouted
dont give it to her - give it to me, I deserve it much more!

and then wrestled the syringe ....
// I’m not suggesting that she shouldn’t have had the jab today//

spoilsport - youre no fun
They are vaccinating thousands.

By the law of averages some will die, but the statistics will look at the many not the individual.
'By the law of averages some will die' What, from the vaccine??
Woofie //but its not the first shot.//
She was the first person to receive the vaccine.
I am in my late eighties and looking forward to receiving my shot of vaccine.
But there are people saying they deliberately chose a very old person because if it kills her they can say it was just old age.
So you can’t win either way. Best not to let it bother you
and William Shakespeare of Warwickshire was the second...

as to Boris having it, surely there would be uproar by some if he didn't take his turn....
dannyk13 "Woofie //but its not the first shot.//
She was the first person to receive the vaccine."

surely it has been administered to volunteers as part of the testing regime? https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/13159725/first-volunteers-pfizer-covid-vaccine-feels-severe-hangover/
Bednobs //its actually care home residents and their carers first//
That was the plan until it was found that there was a problem in delivery of the vaccine to care homes.
non volunteer then...
Woofie, Ok, she was the first person to receive the vaccine in the general vaccination of the public.
brainiac: "Boris was filmed in a hospital today - could they not have found a vaccine for him?" - probably but if they did we'd have heard all the Anti Government types screaming that he was being made a special case and jumping the queue etc.
which is what i said, they would be screaming from the rooftops.
I don’t like this government but I wouldn’t have a problem with them getting it as a priority. They’re of questionable efficiency when healthy so it won’t be good if they’re trying to run the country ill.
