Not everyone will agree with this of course. But any half decent parent or teacher would welcome schemes like this and the opportunities they give young people.

Yes such qualities are admirable. But they have to be tempered with pragmatism. Unfortunately, before they no longer know everything, many younger people fail to exercise that temperament and their ideals get the better of them.
