However, poor Danes - they say a woman needs four animals in her life.
1. A mink on her back
2. A Jaguar in her garage
3. A Tiger in her bed.
4. A *** or Ass to pay for it all.

Looks like the Danes are one down.

I do see your point, Allen... however mink farms are just for their coats. And if this puts a stop to that, it can't be a bad thing?
There are mink farms in a few EU countries but many are in the process of banning it, such as Ireland which still has three. That may be good for the EUs conscience but is it really good for the mink?
People will still buy mink fur and is it better for the mink to be bred in closely regulated countries like European countries or in countries like China?
If this new strain of covid is rife in the mink farms(funny how our animal rights fanatics never took up on the fact) is there not a danger that it is also present in the pig farms over there. Now that would be a worry. Will they all be slaughtered and incinerated?
Barry, not Allen... sorry. Any animals that are bred, for any reason, should still be treated kindly and respectfully while they are alive.
I totally agree, pixie, but who is going to enforce that in countries like China?
barry, Denmark's mink industry is not closely regulated. Should we also do other people's legal executions for them because we would do it more kindly? If we think something is wrong them we shouldn't do it.
Covid has been found in mink farms in Sweden, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and the USA as well as Denmark. Why aren't they hitting the headlines?
woofgang, the point I am trying to make is that by banning the farms in one country means that farming will increase in others. It is not helping the mink.
Mink farming is banned in the UK and we have no say about what goes on in other countries.
We don't need to farm Mink in the UK. They are breeding quite nicely in the wild after the wackos let them all free. Hope they are all social distancing.
No barry I am not a vegan and neither do I breed mink for their fur and kill them by sticking an electrode up their backside. Stupid question, but typical when someone (i.e. you) has nothing more sensible to say.

Pity my answer was removed, I was proud of it.
margie, I have been to slaughter houses and seen how pigs, cattle and sheep are slaughtered - there is nothing kind about it. As I eat meat, eggs and dairy products, and wear leather and sheepskin, I don't feel I have the moral high ground where the farming of any animal is concerned, nor over people who choose to wear fur.
You seem very quick to insult people and name call. It really is unnecessary to get your point across.
Barry, me neither... I was a vegetarian from about 8 to 20. But gave up while I was breastfeeding, as I was constantly starving. Now... I am OK with animals having a life, and also taking risks.... like people are allowed to- as long as they are properly cared for and risks are minimised.
The most hypocritical people i have seen on here, are vegans.
It's a shame you don't know my daughter, pixie. She is a vegan eco-warrior that cooks offal to feed her rescue dogs (the smell turns my stomach) and was arrested many times (thankfully not charged) for her beliefs before she had children.
She is passionate about animal welfare and the planet but truly does respect other people's beliefs and right to eat whatever they choose. We have lively debates but have never fallen out over veganism.
Hell of a sexist notion. Why has nobody (except me) complained?
I think I would like her, Barry.
Pixie. You often bleat out your assertion that “ The most hypocritical people i have seen on here, are vegans” but never, ever, substantiate it.

Put up, or...
Told "she who must be obeyed" that if she doesn't behave herself that I'm buying her a mink coat for Christmas.
This is the first time I ahead said it, Allen. As it never occurred to me before. I don't want to name names, as she doesn't seem to be here just now. But one vegan seems to believe that her morals about animals are above other people's.
However, one on hand says that all lives are equal, now matter how big or small.
But on the other, accepts that many insects and small animals die, in order for her to eat....
At least most of us realise the hypocrisy, without pretending we are any different.
barry - I will comment how I want to comment. I am pleased with what I have said and I care not for your argument, it will not change me. Stand by everything I have said. Mink farming is WRONG!!! Any fur farming is.
And I won't be commenting again as I'll just be going round and round in circles.
