Numbers Used To Justify Second Lockdown Were Wrong.
The doom-mongering numbers from last Saturday, used to justify this unnecessary second lockdown, have proven to be false.
Is this down to an innocent mistake, incompetence or something else?
I can't help but think it's down to, as Theresa May said, "figures are chosen to support the policy rather than the policy being based on the figures".

I read yesterday that Chris Whitty admitted he had misled everyone with his covid graphs and figures.I am afraid my confidence in the handling of this crisis and the misinformation that is constanly been fed us is leading to general non-compliance by the public and who can blame them.Just baffle with B.S. and they will do as their told.
It appears to me that ther is a sinister agenda in the back ground and covid is used by National and Local government to push through unpopular policies on the strength of fear and lies using vastly exaggerated figures as an excuse.

I dont believe the many experts advisers and hangers on set out to deceive whitty and intended he deceive the public

the reproof ( if it be that (!)) is nothing like what is being doled out to Trump - "the president made more unsubstantitated statements today..."

People dont know what a model prediction is. The word has been changed to 'projection', The hacks are adding the obvious phrase = if nothing is done
Even here the great NJ was unable to cope with the model of a car crashing into a wall. If you put the brakes on and it doesnt crash - HE says it invalidates any modelling at all, I say if you change the facts you change the predicted ( oops projected that is!) outcome

This information was on the front page of the Telegraph a few days ago, plus the fact they didn’t factor in any positive effects from introduction of the tier system and an inflated R number was used. This information was available before the MPs voted on lockdown but was never really picked up by the rest of the media, so it appears lockdown was a foregone conclusion.

The number of deaths is obviously going in the wrong direction. You can explain away more cases found because we are testing more. But the rising number of deaths is not so easily explained. I have heard it said that the deaths were bound to rise in the cold winter months, thing is, it hasn’t been cold yet.

What I find even more worrying is that the government seemed to accept these figures, without checking them, independently for themselves. I feel that the tier system was never really given a chance, even though it appeared to have the desired effect. One has to wonder whether it is the scientists now running the country, since they were against the tier system, which Boris seems to have favoured.

The whole of Europe and wider is being affected by the 2nd wave. Whatever the figures are, they are on the rise when you look at the wider picture and lockdowns have been enforced in other countries.
