Actually I have got a feeling that what they did may have been illegal....there is a thing about every ticket having an equal chance to win and prizes have to be distributed in line with the terms of the raffle. So you can't say that certain adults can't win certain prizes for ANY reason.

I am very impressed with how many people would happily accept an inferior prize compared to the one they had won based on a decision made by someone else.

I rather doubt that I would.
Unlikely, because there are no costs generally awarded at Employment Tribunals.

He won a prize in a raffle. Someone decided to substitute that prize for a lesser value prize because of his religion. He had no say in that. He was treated less favourably because of his religion. THAT is discrimination. It does not matter what the intention or the motive was, it is still discrimination.

As for the rest of his claims - I do not think the employers acted well, but no discrimination was found. I do not think he acted well either.

It was a sad day when the cost to bring an ET was scrapped, because is has led to so many more spurious and vexatious claims by people who feel they have been wronged. Some people do it just to be malicious.

Trust me on this, even the most spurious of claims takes an awful lot of management time, time that is better spent running a business for the benefit of people who don’t have an axe to grind.
