Big Ears soon picked that up then ;-D
Widely rumoured therefore not a surprise, hope she makes a good job of it.
Why do they always assume that ex sportsmen/women can become presenters? Does not always follow so we shall just have to wait and see. I remember when they had Sally Gunnel and Linford Christie commentating on athletics and they were both dreadful and didn't last long thank goodness.
I admit I haven't followed her spell in broadcasting so am unable to comment on her style in that regard.
"Why do they always assume that ex sportsmen/women can become presenters? " - they don't and very few of them do actually become presenters, some not even in sports shows. Eg Dion Dublin. Bob Wilson did Grandstand before Lineker but hard to think of many others.

This girl looks to have a bubbly personality so perhaps she might just brighten up the show.
Not unexpected really & I think she's a great choice for the role.

Sue Barker had to learn the ropes & became a very good presenter indeed IMO.
Thank God this is finally sorted! I've been worried sick...
lol jim I know...didn't sleep a WINK last night

I'm surprised they have named someone so quickly. It's making me wonder if this has been planned for quite sometime.
I should have had a fiver on that one :-)

Gary Lineker was awful when he first started, Not sure Ms Barker was that great either.
I thought David Coleman, actually, was not a great presenter of the quiz, tho a great commentator.
There is no one to touch Geoff "And let's go straight to the Liberty! Chris Kamara!" Stelling though
Jeff!
I beg his pardon.
"Get it right, ichy, for goodness sake!"
Barsel - the BBC haven't officially named anyone, Gary Lineker did & should learn not to post things that aren't his responsibility to publish.
Okay. I don’t know who she is apart from a quick google.
I used to like the show but... not so much now.
Who are the new captains?
I think she would be a good call when/if named having seen her many times on Football Focus, MOTD etc... However like many others have posted on another thread I stopped watching AQOS when it became a poor imitation of 'They Think its all over'.
"Oh... and if you have a problem with Alex getting the job, you might just be part of the problem.'"

What a strange and unneccessary comment from the jug-eared crisp vendor.
isn't he leaving the country soon, following Brexit?
Well, the BBC has excelled itself. Two for the price of one. A BAME and a woman to boot! Who'd a guessed?
She gorgeous, bubbly with a great smile...but as usual I won't be watching.
Despite being a fan of Alex Scott, I feel that this is ageism and racism rolled into one, this decision was taken IMO, not on ability but to tick boxes, you can bet good money that the team captains will be one afro caribbean and one white, shame on you BBC for pandering to the snowflakes.
