Hillary [21-10-2016]: “Donald Trump refused to say that he'd respect the results of this election. By doing that, he's threatening our democracy.”

Hillary [25-08-2020]: “Joe Biden should not concede under *any* circumstances.”

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: the political left always accuse their political opponents of the very thing they themselves are guilty of. It's pathological projection. They simply can't help it.

Running interference for Clinton. Good job.
JimF, I think the missing qualifier 'American' gave rise to your understandable confusion i.e. "the American political left always..."

Leaving out the context can give a definite slant JimF.-- eg

I must say it is going to be all rather amusing if Trump wins again. The liberal lefties will be incandescent with rage, accusing all those who voted for him not knowing what they were doing or the election was rigged etc etc, a bit like the vote to leave the EU. They might even call for a second "people's vote"!
A reasonable question once again derailed by jimF and TCL who just bicker and fail to answer the OP.

I thought from other answers being removed in recent times AB was trying to cut this out.

Hilary Clinton is toxic and I think is now going a little mad. She really is Trumps 'trump' card. Bet the Dems wish she would shut up.
OP: "Donald Trump refused to say..."
OP: "Want to talk about Trump? Start your own thread."

Hmmm...
^The OP was quoting Hillary Clinton. The thread is about her.
Maybe in 4 years someone changed their mind. But I think, more likely, someone is making too much over remarks made at different times. One expects criticism of opponents and support of one's own side. So occassionally one can get tripped up when exaggerating a bit. Big deal. Mountain out of a molehill.
I agree.
We all hope the election won’t drag on.
Obviously if the result is unclear then no one should concede.
Perhaps Democrat memories go back to 2000 ...
Ah, yes! The famous hanging chads.

Rather than ranting about what the Left does, what the Right does, which is missing the point surely, it is interesting as it shows how toxic US politics has become. And it started before Trump of course, even if he was petrol in the fire.
Neither side trusts the other. It’s shocking really.
Not sure about Trump being perol on the fire. He refuses to kow tow to the 'correct' way of doing things, WYSIWYG with him wheras with other leaders the words are 'polished' before we get them meaning we dont really know what they think entirely.

The problem certainly for the last 4 years is with the Democrats and Clinton in particular. Refusing to accept the result and embarking on no end of investigations, slurs and attempted impeachment when what they should have been doing is gre-grouping dumping toxic Clinton and finding an electable leader is folly to say the least.

Much as I like Trump the Democrats should have been able to find a candidate to beat him easily if they got their act together.
Yep Bang on YMB, the crats have been running around trying to sabotage the Trumpster rather than getting their own house in order and generating a viable candidate. It looks to be like they expect to lose this time so they've bunged the old fella up front to take a beating.
I know someone who is a long standing Republican (and as appalled by Trump as any Democrat) and he said that the Democrats thought that nobody could lose to Trump and for a while they seemed determined to find that nobody.
I have wondered if the Dems are playing the long game. Loose this one, shut Clinton and perhaps even Obama up and fight the next election when Trump wont be there. It's most likely at that point the Reps wont have a decent candidate so they could get a landslide.

Just a thought.
There are a few Reps that dont like Trump - but will still vote for him, just asa there are Dems that dont like Biden but will vote for him.

I dont really find it surprising that you know one who doesnt like him just as I'm sure you wont be surprised to learn that I know Reps in the States who love him!
If successful, by the mid-term elections Biden will be 80. It reminds me of the old USSR where they paraded waxwork after waxwork as leaders in quick succession.
There are so many republicans who don’t like Trump that some Democrats complained there were too many of them lined up to speak at their convention!
I dint go with all this conspiracy stuff about lining up a duff candidate. It’s easily forgotten that Biden was the candidate Trump feared most. Why else would he try to “co-opt” a foreign head of state to dig up dirt on him years before an election.
It’s not as if men in grey suits went into conclave to choose him. He emerged from a typically messy round of primaries.
As did Trump the last time.
What is said in the OP is absolutely correct.

I can't wait for Trump and Biden to fight it out on my TV.
They are both experts in talking absolute crazy bullcrap that makes no sense at all.

When Trump talks his latest *** you will hear it on our news channels constantly throughout the day. When Biden talks *** you have to see it on Twitter because our news channels won't air it.
^Sounds about right.
