I don't give a rats April for Assange but surely we should using him as leverage to get Sacoolas sent back.

She was whisked away under 'Diplomatic Immunity'. It was only once she had left (quite some time later) that it was discovered she did not actually have any rights under 'D. I.'.......but, of course, by that time she was beyond the reach of the long arm of our law.

AH: "TTT, my 'bridge at midnight' was tongue in cheek, but seriously, if an 'exchange' was ever done, it would need to be much closer to like-for-like than the individuals you are suggesting here. " - yeah but who's close to JA that they have that we want? We want' Mrs Sacoolas here so we can exert the full force of a British Let off on her!

doug; "What happens if we refuse the extradition request from the USA? Answer the next time we request the USA to extradite someone it will be refused. Is it really worth it? " - err but you already declared that the US do not give up their citizens me old china so now you are dangling the possibility that they might? Did you read the example I gave earlier? How did we get from "America doesn't give up their citizens" - to it might if we play ball? You can't have it both ways!
Sacoolas is NOT ever coming back.

It is most likely that the British dont want her back either since awkward questions could be ask by the anti-British MP's etc as she was clearly involved in some 'shady' work.

Assange, not being British should be lobbed out of the country so he no longer costs us money. I doubt the USA would value him anyway near Sacoolas even if they did entertain the idea of a deal.

you have missed last weeks application to the high ct to release / disclose papers where the Foreign Office instructed the police to release her

I thought they had done it in short order

Julian Assange is an innocent journalist guilty of exposing war crimes.
We should be protecting him.
Probably because the government don't give a rats April about 'some kid being killed on a motorbike', when it conflicts with getting a trade deal with the USA.
yes Tomus
I regret I think you are right

Early start in the spirits, Tora? That was the esteemed Danny, not me but don't let your fascination dim. X
If Sacoolas was to return, or for that matter if she had never left, what would she likely be charged with, and if she pled not-guilty what would be the likely penalty if she was found guilty? Also, if she pled guilty, what would be the likely penalty?
Looking back at my post of 2255, let's delete "If Sacoolas was to return" because I suppose that would add another layer of complexity upon the situation. Just consider my questions regarding the outcomes if she had remained.
