no thread on this yet.
so I thought I would remind you
what do ABers think? - my own surprise is the speed at which the police conduct dept acted, why it was put on internet media without complaint
and why the body cameras were not showing they were on - so the only film is viral on the internet

oh and the editor has asked me to point out that the sunny Sun report that one explained " I was only taking the knee" is completely untrue - he said something else

What is there to say PP - obscene behaviour- I hope he is dismissed .
Hope he's sacked and loses his pension ,what a cretin
what was he being detained for ?

what was he being detained for ? //

Suspect detained for possible knife carrying.
Policeman should suffer a full disciplinary hearing plus being sent back to Training college with particular emphasis on correct restraint techniques. Should also apply to his colleague as well.
Question Author
there was a fight and they found a knife on him
and he has been charged
( which is usually a fatal end to any complaint)
( carrying an offensive weapon in public I think)
Should be sacked and charged with misuse of office.
Doesn’t really compare with the George Floyd incident.
I can’t see that the Police did much wrong. They were trying to detain him and the knee was only there momentarily, and was removed quickly when he complained he couldn’t breath.
lets turn this around.
police don't arrest man with knife, man goes on stabbing spree on london bridge.

police don't arrest man with knife,//

but instead give him an AK 47 - BUT whose butt has been smeared with novichok - does he drop dead before or after the carnage. Luckily this time they have turned their videos on, so punters can bet on it on-line

this has to be AB

There you go. A big macho policeman re-enacting what he sees on tv . Why oh why do police not use body cameras . Are they afraid to ?
So what do you want from the police, shall we insist they carry a bag of lollipops around with them, and tell the suspect if you get in the van like a good boy you get a free lolly.
Rather than condemning the arrest and punishing the copper, Dick should make posters of the image with a warning ‘This could happen to YOU if you carry a knife’ and put them on every lamppost in Islington.
"Policeman should suffer a full disciplinary hearing plus being sent back to Training college with particular emphasis on correct restraint techniques. "
Have you lot heard yourselves? It's a standard restraint technique probably invented a century ago! The Copper is to be commended, successful arrest of lowlife scum and at the same time demonstrating to the septics how it's done, well done that man.
Teacake, two policemen could have easily arrested him without having to kneel on his neck, especially as he was wearing handcuffs for part of the time.
Think you may be talking to the wind Danny :-(
Maybe back in your day, danny.
He was handcuffed anyway and a spokesperson for the Met said this wasn't in their training ?
11.00 And you've had experience have you of arresting someone with a knife, and a lot of the time they have taken drugs, have you also had experience of the strength of someone on drugs, I've seen times were it can take six police to hold someone down that's on drugs, and still fighting.
Teacake, danny used to be a policeman.

11.04 My be he had to say that to stop any riots tonight, because its now got to the point were some think they can do as they wish since the case in the US, and get away with it.
