I’ve literally just discovered that a woman in my road has just died of coronavirus
I never go anywhere without my face mask.
4 who "I do not care" ??

That just shows the state of this Country and those who are not taking Covid seriously
Your Answer...overall and voluntarily done, yes. Policing - impossible. Shops could offer 'cheap ones' as a one off? Office space - depends on how much space there is and whether the office is airy. In other words, use common sense. However, the concept of PC Plod and Fist out there to trey and enforce it, this would be a step way too far.
//But I will wear one because I have health issues.//

You do understand, don’t you, that a normal face covering will not protect you from catching the virus? The idea is that it (allegedly) prevents you from spreading it to anybody else.

There’s a lot of it about – so I’m told.
we'll ignore for now, shall we, that a mask on a person (I don't suppose it would be correct to say "man" at this point) with a beard is of no practical use whatsoever?
I voted 'Yes'
I don't shop at the moment because of my ankle injury, if Dave, Kate or the girls go in then they all do.
Leecon, I voted I don't care for two reasons. The first is that I don't go to shops. The second is that the science is still out on how much different it makes and it only makes that much difference if its worn and used correctly so I am honestly not sure how much it will help. If I need to go to a shop or anywhere else that requires a face covering, then I will wear one. I have got some disposable masks and also, in my car, a collection of suitable scarves, individually wrapped in bags so that they can go back in one after use until washed, and antiviral spray and wipes. So will I wear one if I need to? Yes. Do I think it should be mandatory? I don't care.
PS I am taking Covid VERY seriously. Don't judge.
I am not in favour of being forced to wear one. This is, or was, a free country. I seem to remember B.J. commenting that if people wanted to wear burkha's they were free to do so - so if I don't want to wear something I shouldn't have to. If 2 yds. spacing was OK before, then it is OK now and I'm happy to carry on doing that - as everyone does around here. Has no one considered the effect on people who are hard of hearing? Mr.J2 has not been able to get his hearing aids adjusted for ages and relies on seeing mouth movements to understand that someone is talking to him - then he can concentrate on them and understand them. This will completely isolate him in shops.
I will not wear a medical mask.
If necessary to shop I will cover my mouth & nose with a BUFF (probably ineffective virus-wise).
I will shop less frequently.
I raised the problem deaf people have on another thread(My daughter is profoundly deaf). All I got was some arrogant git telling me I was lying.

You won't be forced to. You'll just be forced to stay out of shops if you're not wearing one. Just order everything online. It'll be like being forced to stay at home if you want to wander around naked from the waist down as we already are.
Well, tomus, since there is no-one else to shop for me, I will have to continue to do it for myself and I will not wear a mask in simple protest. It's all been OK here, people space etc. and I have felt perfectly safe shopping - very low incidence rate. Ordering on line is not possible - no slots and I wouldn't do it anyway, you can't be sure of the quality and I've seen the way assistants chuck soft fruit etc. into trolleys. Besides, I can't buy rat-poison in the supermkt., or many other things. If it was OK before to distance oneself then it is, surely, OK now.

OH will not be able to go out to a shop on his own if everyone wears masks. Any idea how that makes someone feel? I would have to go with him and I would have to remove my mask to speak to him. You are talking rot.

Perhaps we should wear some sort of badge to explain that we are elderly and need to not wear masks (I have asthma and I've tried masks and they do not do me any good)? Here's an idea - a nice bright, easily recognisable badge to say we need special treatment ---- how about a yellow star sewn onto the sleeve? That should do it.
people who can't wear masks for health reasons will still be excused. rat poison is available to purchase on Amazon.
oh and if you are going out with your husband and do intend to wear a mask, you might like to look at these... but as i said if you have asthma, you are excused. s://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/802078707/transparent-vinyl-protecting-mask-with?source=aw&awc=6091_1594756234_29545b78bcc0d5cb76655f2389b265d1&utm_source=affiliate_window&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=uk_location_buyer&utm_content=201309&utm_term=137027
oh that's annoying, they are on etsy, sold as "clear mask"
//It's all been OK here, people space etc. and I have felt perfectly safe shopping -//

That's nice that you feel safe without a mask. If it was about protecting the mask wearer I wouldn't care less who wears one, same as I wouldn't give a hoot who takes a vaccination or not. But a mask is more about protecting other people from you.
