//Estate agents across the UK are banning the use of the term master bedroom due to its links with slavery and sexism.//

I wonder what will happen to master plans, ships’ Masters, Master’s degrees - and - heaven forbid - Masterchef?

It’s all becoming worse than daft now.

or master bate for that matter, lol
Surrendering to the master baiters. :-)
daft its bloody ludicrous....
I suppose they could go all the way in bandwagon jumping and start calling it the Floyd Bedroom.

Anyhoo, bear in mind that the meat of the article ccomes from an estate agent and they've never been known to overstate, exaggerate or flat out lie about anything, ever.
So, are they going to call the principal bonking and napping room the main bedroom - if they do, they'll all be at sea over this.
no never, ^^
Perlease!
that was to Douglas post..
Perhaps they should call it the Mandingo Bedroom, that would keep everyone happy.
Just more PC rubbish IMO
are exec's at the bbc having meetings regarding the renaming of mastermind?

There will some head scratching in the Royal and American navies where the person in charge of discipline is called the Master at arms and is referred to and addressed as Master.
If they do away with Master Bates, Seaman Staines won't be very happy. (Yes, I do know that Richard Digance invented the characters).
Having read through the article, I wonder just how many house buyers who are black have vocally objected (or even bridled) when hearing the term 'Master Bedroom'? Or how many gay female couples have refused to buy a house which has 'his' and 'her' bathrooms? Sometimes, just sometimes, people 'overthink' things and this is the result :-(
What the hell is wrong with people???
Is the term used anyway? For some time now its been Bed 1, Bed 2 etc.
Taskmaster on Dave? oh dear! ....and what about star wars? All those Jedi Masters! Jedi Mandingo?
If you ignore it long enough it will eventually go away.
You can still call it a master bedroom if you want to. Some estate agents don't want to, for all the right reasons of course ...

> Peter Wetherell, executive chairman of Wetherell in Mayfair, said the company was removing the term master bedroom on all of its listings in an attempt to appeal to more socially conscious buyers. He told The Times: "These changes are being driven by political correctness ..."
Not sure it's political correctness. Just looked up the particulars of a couple of propertis we sold 3 years or so ago. Both said Bed 1.
Renamed our Master Bedroom some time ago!
Two signs on the door
1) Bosses Bedroom
2)'er Indoors
