A positive u-turn from the government. Well done to Marcus Rashford for highlighting this cause. I don't like your team at all, but good work.

ymb //parents should feed their own kids// Those parents who can do.Those that can't get vouchers if they pass a means test.

Mozz - that's how I read it.
on BBC news last night, they interviewed a family who were benefitting from a foodbank scheme and who would welcome extension of the vouchers. the kids were saying that without the free food their studies will have suffered, etc. which is probably true.

yet both kids were sat at their study table wearing very expensive branded sports tops. presumably buying stuff recommended by Instagram influencers is far more important than buying food, and maybe the reason they need the foodbank? just saying.
Mushroom, maybe those clothes were bought before the family fell into harder times. Just saying.

For all we know Mushy those tops could be a couple of years old, or Christmas/Birthday presents from family members.

It's easy to judge when you don't have any information.
Conservative MP Therese Coffey hasn’t been unfed for a long time...

If you can't afford kids then don't have a night. or several nights of uncontrolled passion. I don't want to pay for your neglect.
It’s becoming quite difficult to lock up your daughters these days, teacake, you can’t get the convents.
10.23 There's plenty of safeguards on the market now, so no excuses really.
I hear The Labour Party claimed it was their successful campaign.
Thought it was Mr Rashford's.
Danny, my post was tongue in cheek based on the post at 15:17.

I was just helping bednobs out with the prediction!
Seriously though I would like to see no money given out for benefits. It should all be food parcels and/or vouchers which can be based on the occupants of the claiming household. Rent etc should be funded directly and gas/leccy via a card with credit on it.

Typical old argument. Of course, that doesn't allow for kids from broken homes, leaving one parent to struggle alone, or widows/widowers, or fathers (and on occasion, mothers) who skeedaddle at the first sign of a baby bump.

14.48, Its not an argument, just my view. Regards to broken homes, I come from one back in the 50s, a family of six, it was a struggle but we managed, why? because you had to, food and household bills came first then, they don't now, hence the problems. To many riff raff wrapped up in cotton wool.
And that is the reason people like teacake are not running the country.
Question Author
Teacake, does that mean that you consider anyone on the poverty line is riff raff? That's a very Tory thing to think.
Are folk aware that the anagram of his name is 'Frauds or Charms' - we should be cautious.
DTC,if you were not joking, you should have been.
Been said on here many times, and I don't mind saying it again. To many hand outs for people that don't want to work, and won't, the more you give the more they want, and what money they are given is thrown away on fast food, three times the price than if they cooked it themselves. The priorities of the last generations is pathetic. Farmers have been crying out for workers all over the country for weeks now to pick fruit and veg, ( and you don't need a degree to do that) result, one farmer had 300 applications, only 25 work for him now, why? most didn't turn up, the others did one or two days, then said it was hard work and too longer hours. Well you can't be that ruddy hungry then.
Well you're sounding a lot more Tory than me on this topic, Teacake.
I just don't have any time for lazy people, especially when there are jobs there waiting, the ones that have given up after only 2/3 days didn't even give their body chance to get used to the physical exercise, had they stuck it out they would have felt a lot better for it.
