the other week it was Domgate wall to wall, nothing else happened on the planet. This week it's Floyd wall to wall at the exclusion of all else!

So you missed the stuff about Madeleine McCann then.
I see many other news stories in my twitter feed, Tora.

you know what I mean. They seem to be like a dog with a bone, till the next big thing comes along. I can't turn the news on at the moment without it repeating the Floyd case with N virtue signallers. Even Andrew Marr is on the case. The McCann story did well to get a bit of coverage.

what's the twitter feed? Is that part of Twitface?
I think you man ‘dominated by’ rather than ‘the exclusion of all else’. You know what AB is like, Tora. You’d better say EXACTLY what you mean otherwise you’re open to criticism and the thread won’t go the way you want.
Isn't that kind of what the journalism model is about though?
One’s twitter feed is what shows up (i.e. what you’ve chosen to follow) when you go into your twitter account. It’s not the cesspit of depravity you think it is, Tora.
Media report on what they think will sell most papers or attract the most viewers.
Only one front page of course!

well I'll take your word for it ZM, I see no value in Twitface at all, never go anywhere near it, can't see the attraction frankly. "I've got a gazillion friends" - yeah well see how many will drive 200miles on a winters night to get you out of the tish, yep as I thought, back down to the figures of one hand!
It's very hard to see value in anything if you start out by mocking it. "Twitter" has literally millions of people, any of whom you can follow. You don't have to go to the journalism section, there are some comedy accounts out there too.

Mozz: "Media report on what they think will sell most papers or attract the most viewers. " - well I normally have news 24 on as default but not watched it for days, every time I turn on it's Floydgate. I wonder how many are turning off too. I'm I the only one who finds the broken record approach annoying?
Then again, ongoing large-scale global protests about police brutality and endemic racism in society might be viewed as a fairly large story.

Yes, it is where you discuss news events 1.5 days
(on average) before you discuss them again on Answerbank.
Yes, I know what you mean and that is why I find it is an advantage to additionally pay attention to foreign media. Many, but not all, UK media might be described your way and that is presumably why the UK does so badly in press freedom comparisons (the flow of information, objectivity, insight, debate, challenge, etc.).

TTT, To save you the effort of typing and entering it: Anti-British rant, etc........ ;) Have a nice day.
"I see no value in Twitface at all, never go anywhere near it,"

Is it wise to be so dismissive of something you know nothing about?

I'm reminded of the Peter Kay 'garlic bread' skit.
Question Author
jim: "endemic racism in society " - did you see my post about things like "advancing black management" - etc, I'd get fired for even suggesting the white version. In the UK the "racism" these days is mainly against whites, it's gone full circle. You can have Black ...anything but dare to even suggest White ...anything and you'll be on the 10 o'clock news.
Shown up the aBBC for the lying left wing scum they are. Wake up, people.
The flaw in that logic is that if you are trying to address systemic imbalances then naturally you are going to focus on how they affect those who are affected negatively by the imbalance, rather than positively.
Hyperbole, thy name is Tora.
