pretty much all ikea stuff has been available online throughout lockdown. I like ikea, good designs and value. I enjoy the occasional McD as well but wouldn't queue for one.
//People wailing? I find that very hard to believe.//

I kid you not. Adults were lost in despair with cries such as "what are we going to do?" Children were sobbing and crying.
wonder if anyone in the ikea queue was scoffing a mcdonalds?

Yesterday here, the traffic was backed up to the A1 causing chaos, all for a Happy Meal !
If I only had a time machine, and I don’t mean a clock.
Surely the UK had a era when the morons weren’t so prolific.

Just as we see newsreels from times past via technology David , perhaps the cravings for a bookcase and a happy meal will be shown on the History channel :0))))
People were queuing for Ikea got the same reason people were queuing to buy up big rolls a few months ago

They were thinking thatif they don't get in quick for their flat packs , all the stocks would be soon gone
Panic buying eh?

You may actually have something there.

How do you ‘panic buy’ a happy meal?
I like a Maccy D every now and again, especially their milkshakes, but there is no way I would Q round the block for one! I will wait till all the excitement is over and the crowds die down.
We may go perhaps once a year. Their tea tastes quite nice. Hi Bobbs.
The only time we go to McDonalds is to break a long journey late at night - generally from an airport after a long flight - when a coffee and a burger is welcome - and their loos are handy too.

That’s another thing. How are all these people who are out and about for hours - or even whole days - managing for loos? As I understand it, most of the public toilets are closed, as are those in shops.
McDonald's may be to appease kids, but anyone willing to sit in a car queue for 2 hours, with hungry children in it, is braver than I am :-)
if you've got kids and you're out Mcd is the cheapest meal you can get usually. I went to burger king yesterday there were about 5 people in front of me. they told me theyd been very very busy
I don't care what you lot think... I'm near the front of the queue now.
Question Author
I’ve no objection whatsoever with McDs I enjoy one myself but like some have said ,sitting in a car for two hours or more to get one, just doesn’t float my boat
Not all public toilets are closed Naomi, Bournemouth has most ope now. Rubbish is the biggest problem, 10 tons of the stuff even when there are empty bins. Although apparently in Sandbanks they we using gardens.

Some Grocks are just disgusting.

Question Author
How long have you been there Roy, since yesterday ? :0)))
Never been to Ikea in my life, doesn't sound like I'm missing much! Like others on here, won't be queuing for a Mac's, will wait till hopefully normality returns.
