Do you think this is a good idea?

I can't see any harm in doing this apart from possibly traffic build up.

I think it’s a lovely idea. It must be utterly miserable living in a care home without visits from your family and friends, and if this pandemic’s taught me one thing, it’s that there’s nothing more important.
there are and would be a number of care homes that you couldn't do that - my friend is in care home and it is gated at the front and so no traffic could get up to it.

I spoke to my friend some Sundays ago and whilst she is in the early stages of dementia, she started, "I'm gonna knock you into kingdom come", why said I, "you haven't been to see me". I knew she wouldn't understand re the virus, but there ya go - she knew I hadn't been to see her - very sad.
Where roadside access is available it's a lovely idea.
