Tell you what then, pay tax voluntarily as if you did live here! Then we may believe your BS.

What a crock of sh.

Move for tax reasons by all means, but don't insult us by lying about it.
With the tax that he has saved by living on Necker Island you'd think that he would have been able to pay his Virgin Atlantic staff for the eight weeks unpaid leave that he wanted them to take over three months.
and what of his expensive virgin galactic...guess its not going into orbit.
perhaps he thinks that the government should bail him out, ummmm

he does emmie, he's asked for £500m.
Let’s see how those companies they’ve excluded help them with the recovery, post CV.

If they've been aggressively avoiding tax, they've been doing the bare minimum to help thus far, also I doubt there's enough money to bail everyone out. If that's the case this looks like as good a method as any to decide who deserves the help.
Depends how many people they employ/ed. Is Maersk one of the companies, Tomus?

It’s not as simple as just looking at the tax those companies pay.
I realise they employ people, and those people pay tax, but as I said, there's a limited amount of money available and it has to be allocated on some basis.
If it’s allocated ignoring companies who employ a significant amount of people then it isn’t very prudent to Denmark’s future economy.
Maybe so. They've probably looked at who employs what and who pays what and realised they can happily take this action without harming any company they don't want to harm.
he's asset-rich and cash-poor, like a lot of people, including me (my house is worth far more than anything I've got in the bank). He hasn't got enough money in his own pockets to rescue Virgin Atlantic. He hasn't demanded a handout, he's asked for a loan and offered one of his biggest assets as collateral.

Does the government want the airline to survive or would it rather leave BA as the only big UK airline? Virgin Australia has gone into administration leaving Qantas unchallenged and 10,000+ staff in limbo; would it help the UK economy if the same happened here?

Older travellers may remember what airlines like BA and Qantas charged before they had serious competition.
Let’s hope so, tomus. So do you agree they haven’t just been doing the bare minimum?
I would rather bail out Virgin than fund HS2.
jno for BA.
I'm hoping you don't mean British Airways, Ken.
LOL
