Great but we need some consistency on this. Other spitters have not been jailed.
Quite right to. Last year there was a big hoo ha about the Police Federation requesting spit masks when dealing with certain elements of the public.

they should be jailed at any time in my opinion not just now with the CV outbreak, disgusting creatures.
What a silly way to vent your frustration because you are unable to resist physically.
what an appalling thing to do.. glad he got jail time
A beak with balls - there's a surprise. More of the same please.
Good. More of the same needed.
Good. Ages ago when I was a kid, just spitting on the ground was so anti-social that I thought it was illegal. I've an idea that it was because of TB around. It's good news that this line has been drawn.
Made my blood boil hearing some police were being heavy handed in Derbyshire , it’s about time they were heavy handed and we moved away from the ‘ Handle with kid gloves ‘ shmuck !
Years ago spitting in general was much more prevalent, hence signs on buses and elsewhere saying 'No Spitting'. Revolting, especially these days, to be spitting anywhere in public.
What does 'The Beak' mean?
Judge
Judge, ummmm. I should know the origin of that, but I don't!
Thanks, Roy, still don't get the connection though. I only speak proper English :-)
I wondered what the 'Beak' as well, haha
//Beak, or Beck, is an old word, of Dutch origin, for anyone in authority (masters are still 'beaks' at some public schools); from the sixteenth century it was used to describe a constable, and it was partly by an accident of alliteration that the term, as applied to a magistrate, survived.//
Obviously it's just us oldies that know what The Beak refers to!!

Never used the term but like you APC , I’d heard of it
Likewise Bobbi.
