It should be cancelled, not really important, they can just stop at home and give their dogs lots of love and cuddles. :0)

The whole world is going to the dogs...
would you propose closing all theatres? Cinemas? Cancelling concerts?banning gatherings of people ?
Apc I totally agree, its madness.

Bebdnobs -yes I would consider it as a precautionary action to try and contain the virus. Once contained it can be swiftly dealt with. Let it get out of control and we are all doomed ;-)
I agree APG, the more we do now then hopefully the less serious it will become...although I think we’re past that point now.
Give it a fortnight and all those things will be in place.

No bednobs. They are not events where people will be coming from all over the world!
what difference does coming from all over the world make? We have Covid 19 in this country already. Also, people visiting from other countries are actually allowed to go to the theatre, cinema, sports events

//In 1991, Crufts was officially recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest dog show. Now 27,000 dogs take part each year, with 160,000 human visitors attending.8 Mar 2019//

That's a vast amount of people.
All organisers of events that attract international attendance will be facing this dilemma - at the moment extra caution is the best practice they can use.

That may change, who knows.

Yes it's here already but it could make it far worse if lots of people are coming in from countries which may not be as careful we are being!

My last post was in reply to Bednobs.
it should be cancelled permanently, these are not dog lovers.
TTT What poof do you have that they are not dog lovers.

As a dog lover and not a lover of the kennel club I tend to agree TTT, but that was not a consideration when I posted.
TC: "TTT What poof do you have that they are not dog lovers. " - just watch a dog show! They incestuously breed dogs for certain "desirable" features then judge dogs on that basis. Some dogs are now so deformed as a result that they have lives of misery to satisfy their sad owners desire to win a trophy. I'm surprised the RSPCA do not make more of a fuss. True dog lovers would not be interested in such vanity.

That's the showing world. Cats, Horses, Dogs all deformed by humans for their own pleasure.

We have had dogs over decades and all have mainly been rescued mutts of all shapes and sizes, usually with problems. However I must admit that I do enjoy dog agility events, especially when the dogs mess it up. I love to see dogs enjoying themselves.

Agreed APG
some organisations have already cancelled and I understand that Italian competitors have been told not to come.
