They only have to wait another 3 days then they'll be free to come home, rather than being brought home now and face another 14 days as "prisoners"
They are in an unfortunate position, but i it really up to boris johnson to sit out?

I can't remember where I saw it but someone was blaming Boris & Co for the high winds, he/she said that it was disgusting (discusting is the word they used) that they weren't doing something about it.
Would you want to "holiday" on one of those floating petri dishes? Even without the coronavirus outbreak the things are a breeding ground for disease. The Beep Beep See will of course ramp up the volume in yet another flimsy attempt to criticise the Government. Have yo started to count how many times they manage to shoehorn the name "Boris Johnson" into every news item or topic that they engineer? They would be only to willing to give this, ready to blame anybody but himself, victim the airspace at our expense if they though it was damaging to No10. It isn't and won't be. Most right minded people think that the best place for them is in quarantine thousands of miles away thank you very much. Then they wonder why the PM is looking at curbing their capacity for mischief making and insidious suggestion.
because they are brainless eejits, probably Labour voters.
Mr Abel, who describes himself as a "staunch Tory"
The recommendation from the WHO was for people on the ship to stay there; the Americans etc are going against that recommendation.
I think it is the mixer messages the people are getting from various articles in different outlets I have read.

I think they make foolish claims. Quarantine was the right course of action. They should be accepting of the fact that they ought not get off to spread disease worldwide, and be supportive of all staying on board until the risk has passed. They should look at their moral stance and reconsider.
Government is an easy target. That is why they blame them.
Exactly right OG. Well said.
the US government does something to help its citizens, the UK government does not. Right or wrong, I think I'd feel the same: How do the Yanks get to go home while I'm stuck in my cabin?
I'd rather be bought home and face 14 days as a UK prisoner than be stuck in a Yokohama. I sympathise with these travellers.

They thought their government would want to be in charge of their quarantine and safety. The government made no efforts.

they probably feel up creek without a paddle.
16:40 Mon 17th Feb 2020 - yeah I agree JNO. I'd feel the same.
"Government is an easy target. That is why they blame them."

You know why they're an easy target? Because they're the only target.

"politics".
I imagine that they will get home and do another 14 d
they arent really infection free or not in contact with a case,
are they ?

The squawking is that they are well heeled middle class rich passengers and are being treated like lepers
Togo - // Would you want to "holiday" on one of those floating petri dishes? Even without the coronavirus outbreak the things are a breeding ground for disease. //

That is a hysterical media buzz phrase, and bears no resemblance to reality.

I have cruised many times, and will continue to do so, because I know that the cruise liners are use adhere to scrupulously tight hygiene and cleanliness regulations.

Before anyone enters any dining room on any ship, someone will spray hand sanitiser on your hands, to be rubbed in. No spray, no admission.

Toilets are cleaned scrupulously several times a day, and all areas of the ship are cleaned thoroughly and regularly throughout any cruise.

Because of the nature of the enclosed environment, an infection can and will spread on board a ship, but that does not equate in any way to it being a 'floating petri dish' - that is utter nonsense.
It said on the radio the Americans who have been flown home will face a further fourteen days in quarantine and I imagine the Britons will be treated similarly.
I thought snowflakes were restricted to the young. At least the young are prepared to rough it a bit when they travel.
This middle aged generation (who've never had it so good) want to effortlessly travel - & pollute the planet- without the slightest inconvenience.
You don't half spout some keech from that high horse, Shug.
