According to the BBC a few minutes ago, having been told to sack his advisers, he has refused and resigned.

Does anyone know who his advisors are?

Good for Brexit. Everyone should be pulling in the same direction at this time. (maybe all the time)
On the other hand, isn't there strength in at least some level of diversity? The point of Cabinet presumably shouldn't be merely to rubber-stamp every decision.

But in any case I had thought that Javid was about as pro-Brexit as they come these days, so I'm surprised that's being offered as justification.
Julian Smith didn't resign, he was sacked.
Javid was offered the chance of staying on but he refused.
At the end of the day, lol, Boris & Dom have to run the country and it's up to them who they work with.
And no, jim, Diversity isn't a good thing. Have you ever ran anything? (besides yer bath)
how do you mean "offered the choice", dannyk? As far as I can see, Boris didn't offer him any choice, he just assumed, wrongly, that Javid would stay on.
jno, chance not choice. From my link above:-
//Sky News understands Mr Javid was offered the chance to keep his role but resigned following a dispute with Downing Street over his close aides.//
I'm sorry about this. I liked this man.
thanks, dannyk.
I've never been Prime Minister, at least. But healthy working relationships allow for some level of disagreement, do they not? "Pulling in the same direction" is stupid if it turns out to be a bad direction. I mean, once there's consensus then, yes, everybody should be content to proceed -- but before then, you need debate and discussion, not a bunch of yes-men.
It seems that "Sajid Javid" is shorthand for "Sajid Javid and team".

If you take away or change the team, it's not the same "Sajid Javid" any more. If they didn't like his team, they didn't like him. So he had to go.

It would be interesting to know why they didn't like his team.
Respect to the man, he put his team before his own interests.

It makes mewonder who is running the show at the moment, Cummings or Boris
Cummings can only dictate what Johnson allows. Johnson is in control but will obviously value where he's got so far by listening to Cummings. Unsure what the issue is with Javid's advisors but good on Javid for sticking up for his staff. Maybe a misjudgment by Johnson, or maybe a move to get a difficult decision over with soonest. Time will tell.
I realise Smith was sacked Danny but was just making the point that he had helped broker the N I deal. Also good for Sajid Javid standing up for his team. This Cummings/Johnson partnership is going to be a rollercoaster for the country.
Boris clears the swamp of these ex-remainers in no.11, without having to actually sack him - masterstroke! With the distinct possibility of a no deal, - or working with it as a distinct threat - Javid & his team were not fit for the task.
Wonder who is pulling BJ's strings?
Naomi ,"Does anyone know who his advisors are" what a Stupid Question, think about D/C, The Puppet Master, and I do not mean David Cameron
Any word yet on who the new chancellor is yet? I think Gove is a front runner.
Question Author
Ahh, so you think DC is advising Javid, Boris wants DC sacked, and I’m asking stupid questions. Keep
up gulliver, there’s a good chap.
