An enduring memory is seeing him play the Narrator in Rocky Horror. Very funny in his stockings, suspenders, and high heels. A lovely, clever, funny man.

My earliest memory of him was when I was quite small - in The Arthur Haynes Show.

I loved all his radio 4 programmes.
He had a good run but a very sad loss.

Close friend Tony Blackburn advises he had a fall in Edinburgh just before the Festival, and never really recovered.
