It may be that the Prince did intend to co-operate, as he advised to Emily Maitlis during his interview with her.
But since, during the same interview, he failed to grasp the simple moral concept that, when asked on film if you regret your relationship with a convicted sex offender, the answer, immediately and forcefully delivered is "Absolutely, and I will regret it to my dying day!", not "No, he opened a lot of doors for me …"
On the basis that this is the sort of thing Andrew has, and will say, when asked questions, his lawyers are going to fight tooth and nail to ensure than he never comes within a hundred yards of a microphone for the rest of his miserable life.
The man is an idiot, he has no moral sense, no empathy, and no regard for the consequences of his actions.
Emily Maitlis, who, as I have posted before, eviscerates politicians on camera for a living, tied him up in a neat bow and handed him over the nation, with the results we have seen.
Can you imagine what American prosecution lawyers would do with him!!!!!
He is far too much of an idiot to be allowed to speak to anyone about anything ever again, and I expect his lawyers will ensure that he will be kept away from America, and its lawyers, for ever and ever amen.

Clearly he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but all he has to do is be interviewed and use the 3 wise monkey defence. It is incumbent upon them to prove he is lying - I do not have the first clue whether they would be successful in doing so, but from what I've read about this sorry saga, I suspect they will struggle.

You are working on the assumption that the prince's legal team will brief him with something like - "Say as little as possible, yes and no answers, don't volunteer anything at all!" and he would follow that instruction.
Sadly, this is an arrogant pompous man who has spent his entire life being the centre of attention, and loving the sound of his own voice.
He could not more sit in a room and not hold forth with his mouth in high gear and his brain in neutral, than fly to the moon.

For this case, he is the equivalent of an unexploded bomb - I'm sure the palace would love to leave him in a corner head-first in a bucket of sand, but they have to do their best, and that means simply keeping quiet, in spite of himself.
