I am sure I see mischief in Mr Corbyn's nomination.

If Mr Johnson refuses, he will be accused by Labour of being spiteful and small-minded - although I would hope Mr Johnson would be willing to ride out a few days of acrimony to punish a man who has never been worthy of the role to which he was appointed, and would continue not to be worthy of his appointment to this role, should it come to pass.
Maybe the House of Commons should be located up North.
Atheist - // Maybe the House of Commons should be located up North. //

Why?

Traditions around the world locate the seat of government in the capital, it is where the centre and focus of the country lies.
//As opposed to them winding up the luvvies and anti British.//

Togo, can I just clarify as I'm sure I've misunderstood: are you suggesting that to dislike Britain First is to be "anti-British"?
//Maybe the House of Commons should be located up North//

It maybe better if they were located on the moon.
Even less atmosphere than their current digs, Mozz.
//can I just clarify as I'm sure I've misunderstood: are you suggesting that to dislike Britain First is to be "anti-British"?//

Of course you can ask/clarify. Just like you misunderstand. Your failure of joined up thinking happens, when your default setting automatically forces you to make the assumption that this is the implied meaning, then directs your narrow bandwidth thought process to instinctively brand every patriot as a fascist. Tell us again where do you hail from?
//...i'm thinking, Thurso??//

Excellent! they can use "The Far North Line" (of which I am a "Friend"):

http://www.fofnl.org.uk/

A fraction under eight hours from Kings Cross to Inverness (change at Edinburgh usually). Only £288 "Anytime" single (First Class, natch). Then a very pleasant four hours to Thurso (four trains a day, My Lords will have to get the 10:00am from London at the latest to meet the last connection of the day from Inverness to Thurso at 18:33. £23.20 "Anytime", no first class accommodation available).

Sounds ideal. They can have a day trip from nearby Scrabster to the Orkneys. Should keep them from interfering in things for a while.

Only four hours to do the hundred miles from Sneckie to Thurso.

Sign me up!
(There's definitely something wrong with AB. My post was truncated).

A.H. - Why?

it needs to be in the capital, but it doesn't need to be on the waterfront in the middle of the city. I'm thinking a "Big Shed" warehouse building near the M4, within easy reach of Heathrow Airport, and where it can have a humungous car park that would make the business of government more accessible to the average Joe. And think how much could be realised by flogging off the Palace of Westminster? Billions saved in refurbishment costs, and similar amounts from Russian Oligarchs and other well-monied types who will fall over themselves to get an apartment in such a prime location. It might even be worth putting on the side of a bus, that......

My my, someone's got their bra strap in a twist haven't they? Calm down dear, you'll scare the children.

I never accused anyone of being fascist, I just wanted clarification of your meaning. Honestly speaking, even if you had claimed to be a massive Britain First supported, I wouldn't have thrown any personal attacks your way. I would just have ignored you.

Oh, born and bred English and living on the south coast. Why do you ask?

That hardly qualifies as being 'up North' as Atheist suggested!!

I count 'up north' as starting north of Birmingham at the very least.

Stoke imo.
‘Up North’ is North of Watford for us Sarffeners and I don’t mean Watford Gap.
It’s just the old boys network functioning as it does. Move along, move along.

it depends on perspective. for anyone living on the south coast, anywhere beyond Horsham is "up north", and Heathrow Airport serves some city in Scotland.....

Indeed - as a major home of the fine music known as 'Northern Soul' - I think we qualify as 'Northern' - after all, we are above the M25!!!
